Apple Watch Update: Apple’s watch OS 9 update to bring battery-saving mode to Apple Watch

In a latest update, the Cupertino-based tech giant Apple is finally rolling a real power-saving mode to extend the Apple Watch‘s battery life.

This new update will be useful in situations when the user desperately needs the Apple Watch’s battery to last a longer as the mode will make it easier to extend the battery.

According to a report in
GSMArena, the new mode will arrive in the next watchOS 9 update and the mode can be manually turned on by using the settings menu or Control Center.

Apart from this, the new mode will also alert the user when the battery has 10 per cent left and will automatically turn off once the Apple Watch’s battery reaches 80 per cent.
In order to preserve the device’s battery, the battery-saving mode will automatically turn off all the demanding features on Apple Watch.

The more energy-intensive features, including always on display, heart rate notifications, arrhythmia tracking, heart rate and blood oxygen readings, will be disabled in the battery-saving mode.

Reminders for workouts will be disabled as well. The mode will turn off Wi-Fi and cellular connections if there isn’t an iPhone nearby that is connected to the watch, the report said.

Earlier this month, the tech giant had added an optimised battery charging feature in its Apple Watch running watchOS 9 that would learn from users’ charging habits to slow battery ageing.

Similar to the iPhone version of the feature, it figures out when it’s best to charge the battery to 100 per cent based on the user’s charging habits.
