Take a look at what Apple is going to bring us in 2025 — and while you’re doing that, take a look at everything Apple TV+ has for you right now as it launches its first-ever free weekend.

Apple TV+ has never gone completely free before. There have been so many different free trials when you bought various devices, but this is the very first time that anyone can watch anything on Apple TV+, as long as they watch from Friday to Sunday, January 3 to 5, 2025.

There is one odd thing, though, in that Apple first announced that the free weekend would be just a two-day one, and it’s still saying that on Twitter. That’s an extraordinarily rare misstep for a company that is practically legendary now for its attention to detail and in particular it’s continual ability to marshal resources worldwide.

Such as the way it is surely doing right now, behind the scenes, as it readies for what looks to be a very busy year of updates and new releases. Nothing’s certain until Apple announces it, really not even the iPhone launch in September, but there are enough strong clues now that we can figure out what we can expect in the next few months.

BONUS: Subscribe via Patreon or Apple Podcasts to hear AppleInsider+, the extended edition. This time — don’t call them new year’s resolutions, call them ways to exploit Apple technology to help us achieve what we want and need.
