Android 16 is already about to see the light, which means it’s now time for Apple to unveil what it has in store this year for iOS, macOS, and iPadOS. The company’s WWDC 2025 event is right around the corner, and we now have a date when we’ll be able to check out what’s new for Apple.
Apple has just announced that its WWDC 2025 event, stylized as WWDC25, will be held from June 9th to June 13th, with the main keynote taking place on June 9th at 1 PM ET. Apple had previously confirmed the event’s dates, but we now have details on the actual keynote part, which is the part most people care about. There’s an in-person “special event” taking place in Apple’s Apple Park headquarters in Cupertino, California, but for the most part, it appears that the main keynote will be available to watch online and will probably be pre-recorded, as it has been the case with all of Apple’s latest keynotes and hardware events. Then, the remaining days will be comprised of different sessions and group labs.
The main thing most people are expecting from this event is new software. Apple will most likely introduce iOS 19, iPadOS 19, and macOS 16 during this event. They will be released to the public later this year, likely with the iPhone 17 launch, but right now, we should get initial developer previews and betas as well as a showcase of the new changes and features we’ll get for this year. It’s heavily rumored that iOS 19 will gain a sweeping UI change after last doing one roughly 13 years ago with the release of iOS 7, so that will be fun to see. This UI change will also probably follow with both iPadOS 19 and macOS 16.
Apple has occasionally launched hardware during WWDC, but we’re not really expecting to see any this year, especially since Apple began launching hardware sporadically throughout the year with no clear pattern other than September being the month for most iPhones. So this event will probably be software, and Apple might also launch AI features as well, though I’m not sure that will be a big priority, considering how the initial Apple Intelligence rollout was a spectacular disaster.

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is an annual event at which Apple showcases its latest software and tech to developers. In the past, it’s been a fun watch for Apple fans, too, with announcements about major features and new hardware, such as the Apple Vision Pro at WWDC 2023.
