Arlo announced an all-new Arlo Pro 5S 2K security camera today and promised it’s the most advanced and powerful model yet. Building on the success of its current lineup while working with the new Arlo security system and redesigned app, this camera looks better and lasts longer.

The new Arlo Pro 5S security camera might look similar to previous options, but a lot has changed inside. This model sports tri-band connectivity and can automatically bounce between both 2.4 and 5GHz Wi-Fi connections for the best experience.

According to Arlo, this new Pro 5S camera has a built-in smart siren, spotlight, has color night vision, and captures more on the 160-degree viewing angle, 12x zoom, and 2K HDR camera sensor. Like many other Arlo cameras, you get two-way audio and a magnetic mounting system for ease of use. It’s also weather-resistant and works with all major smart home platforms.

“The Pro 5S is hands down the most secure and reliable camera Arlo has engineered to date. Integrating three wireless technologies into one extremely compact form factor ensures users are better equipped to protect their everything,” said Tim Johnston, SVP of Product at Arlo.

Then, there are a few other noteworthy additions to this camera. For one, the Arlo Pro 5S uses the brand’s Secure Link Connection technology and can pair it to a new Arlo Home Security System for continuous connectivity during a power outage. That secure link also delivers stronger encryption, a longer range, and improved battery life.

As for battery life, the Pro 5S 2k camera has a new low-power mode that promises up to 30 percent longer battery life than the previous Arlo Pro 4. The low-power sleep mode should help users stay secure without replacing the battery as often.

The Arlo Pro 5S 2K camera is available for pre-order today for $249 from Arlo or Best Buy and should begin shipping on November 28th.
