Gaming smartphones are still a thing and ASUS’s ROG Phone series has been a popular exponent of the segment, and now we have news of its upcoming addition to the range and its launch date. As you might have guessed, it’s called the ROG Phone 6 and it’s going to be unveiled at an event held during the first week of July.
There hasn’t been much in the way of leaks for the ROG Phone 6 but we expect the leakers to get on the case in the time leading up to the July launch. ASUS has posted on Twitter that the launch event will be held on July 6, kicking off at 8 AM ET/ 2 PM CET, and you can catch the live stream coverage on the ASUS website, rest assured we’ll give you a nudge closer to the time.
What do we expect?
It’s believed that the ROG Phone 6 will be powered by Qualcomm’s recently announced Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor (as per ASUS’s Instagram post above) and it’s almost certain that it will sport an OLED display with a high refresh rate of 165Hz as well as a hugely responsive touch sampling rate. There’ll be a ton of RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and an even more eye-catching rear panel design with RGB lighting.
Now all we need to do is wait for the July 6th launch event to confirm what little we already know about the ROG Phone 6.
