From uniquely patterned reusable grocery totes to colorful cross-body bags with a distinct black branded strap, you know a Baggu bag when you see it—or, at least, I do.
While mass adoration for the brand, in New York and far beyond, may have spawned from aestheticizing a simple grocery tool, the Baggu Small Nylon Crescent Bag has become yet another sought-after way to fashionably schlep from one place to the next. But Baggu isn’t the only brand playing in this category.
The Uniqlo Round Mini Shoulder Bag has earned a following in its own right and looks starkly similar for half the price. We’re not the only ones who think so, either; there’s a whole Reddit thread on this very comparison.
I put both bags to the test over the past two weeks, and I’m here to answer the question: Is my money better spent on Baggu, or does Uniqlo check all the same boxes, for less?
