Now that Amazon Prime Day deals are behind us, you might be thinking that all the great prices have vanished. Fortunately that’s not the case, as retailers like Best Buy are still offering some terrific sales on new and used items. Speaking of which: Have you ever considered buying an open-box product? Because if you have, we’d like to direct you to a major open-box blowout that Best Buy is having.
In most cases, an open-box device is an item that was bought and returned within Best Buy’s 14-day return window. Maybe the TV was too big for the customer’s living room. Perhaps they needed a laptop with a stronger processor. Whatever the case may be, open-box items are resold with significant discounts. Sometimes an accessory or two might be missing, but Best Buy should indicate this in the product listing.
Without further ado, click the link below to jump over to Best Buy’s open-box event page. We’ve also highlighted six open-box products that we think deserve the most attention.
Do keep in mind that these open-box promotions are region-specific, so not all Best Buy locations will have access to some of these open-box deals.
Asus ROG Ally 7-inch Gaming Handheld — $357 (Fair Condition)
For those looking for a unique alternative to the Steam Deck, the Asus ROG Ally should be at the top of your list. This 1080p/120Hz handheld console is powered by an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme CPU and AMD FreeSync, so you can expect blistering-fast performance and next to no lag. And if you happen to need more bytes, you can easily pop open the SSD compartment to install a bigger drive. Asus was also kind enough to include an HDMI output on this bad boy, so you’ll be able to connect it to any HD TV!
As it stands, you’ll be able to purchase a few different open-box versions of the Asus ROG Ally, ranging from $357 for fair condition to $462 for excellent.
MacBook Air 13-inch Laptop — $991 (Good Condition)
Whether you’ve been hunting for a great laptop for your first year of college, or you need a fast and reliable PC to take to work every day, look no further than this excellent open-box deal on the 13-inch MacBook Air with Apple M3 chip. Brand new this Apple laptop goes for $1,100, but current open-box pricing is as low as $969 for fair condition to $1,013 for excellent.
Powered by Apple’s M3 chip, 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage, this 2024 version of the MacBook Air delivers fast and reliable performance, and for a price that most of us can wrap our heads around.
As far as screen goes, this model is equipped with a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display that can output up to one billion colors. The built-in 1080p FaceTime cam brings sharp and clear footage to the table for video conferencing, and you can expect up to 18 hours of battery life on a full charge.
Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro — $962 (lowest price)
The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro may not get the kind of portable PC attention that Apple, Asus, Dell, and HP laptops tend to collect, but that doesn’t mean this Galaxy device isn’t worth your undivided attention. Equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 CPU and 16GB of memory, this Galaxy machine is one of the best student laptop deals we’ve seen.
We’re particularly fond of the 16-inch AMOLED screen that happens to deliver incredibly bright and colorful picture quality. Whether you’re in a classroom or outside on a sunny day, the AMOLED screen works to reduce glare caused by ambient lighting. Running on Windows 11 and compatible with Alexa, Cortana, and Samsung SmartThings, you’ll be able to use the Book4 Pro to control smart home devices, search the web, and more.
With up to 1TB of built-in storage, you should have no issues storing everything from HD movies and shows to large, complex edit files for programs like Adobe PhotoShop and Adobe Premiere. Right now you can get this laptop for as little as $962 for fair condition to $1,053 for excellent.
Sony 65-inch XR A80L OLED — $1,278 (lowest price)
When it comes to powerhouse TV brands, one of the best in the business has always been Sony. So you can imagine our excitement when we were able to shine a light on this terrific open-box deal for the 65-inch XR A80L OLED. It’s one of the best TV deals we’ve seen this week, and this amazing 4K set is equipped with an OLED screen, which bodes well for those of us who love watching movies and playing video games.
This is because each one of the A80L’s pixels are self-emissive. This means that cells can be individually toggled on or off, leading to some very accurate colors and contrast, as well as inky black levels during darker scenes. And thanks to Sony’s Cognitive Processor XR and XR OLED Contrast Pro, you’ll get to experience even more detail, especially when watching HDR content.
As part of Best Buy’s open-box blowout, the Sony 65-inch XR A80L is as cheap as $1,278 for fair condition to $1,398 for excellent.
LG 65-inch C3 Series OLED — $1,147 (lowest price)
The LG C3 Series was one of our favorite TVs for 2023, and we still recommend it whenever we get the chance. This beautiful 4K OLED sports one of LG’s evo panels, and we’ve been loving this technology since it first rolled out — and it’s only gotten better! Essentially, the “evo” label is LG’s way of saying the OLED you purchased can deliver some great peak brightness levels; which isn’t a picture feature that OLEDs are normally praised for.
Underneath the hood, the C3 Series runs on LG’s a9 AI Processor Gen6, which does a fantastic job at processing picture, sound, and web features. As for the latter, LG’s webOS 23 is the UI you’ll be using, and it’s packed with great features and access to numerous popular streaming apps, including Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, and more.
At the time of writing, you’ll be able to purchase the LG 65-inch C3 Series for as little as $1,147 for fair condition to $1,237 for excellent.
Samsung 65-inch S90C OLED — $1,252 (lowest price)
It took a minute for Samsung and Sony to officially hop on the OLED bandwagon, but we’re glad they finally decided to. For who would want to live in a world without TVs like the Samsung 65-inch S90C OLED? First and foremost, this is technically a “QD-OLED” TV, which means you’ll be getting extra-lush colors, courtesy of Samsung’s quantum dot technology.
We’re also big fans of the Neural Quantum Processor that Samsung has been steadily improving. This picture engine has been in use for several years now, and the 2023 version didn’t cease to amaze us. Let’s just say you can expect some of the best 4K upscaling you’ll ever see on a 4K OLED TV from this Samsung set. Old DVDs, bring it on!
Right now, you can score an open-box 65-inch S90C for a few different prices. For fair condition, you’ll spend as little as $1,252. For like-new condition, you’ll spend as much as $1,348.
