2025 Honda Prologue FWD

Maximum Range: 308 Miles

The Honda Prologue has entered its second year on the market and the Japanese brand has already bolstered the electric crossover with a larger battery. It is now more powerful as well. To get the most range out of the Prologue you need to opt for a front-wheel drive EX or Touring model with their MSRP sitting at $47,400 and $51,700 respectively.

Performance Specifications

The new battery pack gives the Prologue some additional range, but that isn’t the only upgrade the small SUV gets. Honda has also given it a strong front motor, pumping out a few more horses compared to the 2024 model year. The Prologue also features DC fast charging capability, with a maximum rate of155 kW.

2024 Kia EV6 Light Long Range RWD

Maximum Range: 310 Miles

The EV6 is a stylish and enticing electric subcompact crossover, with a fantastic interior and a starting price of $42,600. However, the base model has a smaller battery and only manages 232 miles on a single charge. Thus, you’ll have to upgrade to the Long Range model, which starts at $45,950 to get the best range. The upcoming 2025 model, which has been refreshed may be worth waiting for as it will be getting a larger 85 kWh battery pack.

Performance Specifications

Kia’s EV6 performs much better than you’d expect, with even the single-motor rear-wheel drive models featuring some perky acceleration. The upgraded battery pack is well worth the additional money, with this model able to travel pretty far on a single charge. When plugged into a 350-kW fast-charger, Kia claims it can go from 10 to 80 percent charge in 18 minutes.

2025 Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD

The Model Y very recently received an update for the 2025 model year, with its styling better aligning with its stablemate, the Model 3. Tesla has been a bit all over the place lately following tons of public controversy, but it looks like the only 2025 Model Y available right now is the Long Range AWD model, which starts at $48,990.

Performance Specifications

On their site, Tesla claims that the EPA estimated range for the 2025 Model Y Long Range AWD is 327 miles, but the EPA lists the same model as having achieved an estimated range of 311 miles. Regardless, the Model Y delivers some pretty impressive efficiency considering its performance.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 RWD

Maximum Range: 318 Miles

One of our favorite subcompact EVs, the Ioniq 5 is a quirky offering that proves battery-powered vehicles can be fun. It mixes a good amount of traditional elements with contemporary technology. It starts at $42,600, but you’ll have to upgrade to the extended range model to get 318 miles on a single charge, which starts at $46,650.

Performance Specifications

While the more powerful models are definitely tempting, it’s the SE with rear-wheel drive that offers the best range. The standard range model should be avoided, as it only comes with a 63 kWh battery pack. when plugged into a DC fast-charger with the supplied CCS adapter, Hyundai claims it will charge from 10 to 80 percent in 20 minutes.

2025 BMW i4 eDrive40

Maximum Range: 318 Miles

The only option from the luxury segment on this list, the i4 is a unique offering in the EV world. The base eDrive40 model starts just under the $60,000 mark, with an MSRP of $57,900. You get a lot for your money, though, with the i4 offering great performance and a plush cabin.

Performance Specifications

BMW’s i4 is a genuinely sporty EV, with rear-wheel drive and plenty of power to get going quickly. It is impressive how well the eDrive40 balances performance and efficiency, able to go fairly far on a single charge. Every model features 200-kW charging capacity, meaning it can gain 88 to 108 miles of range in as little as 10 minutes.

Chevrolet has really been on a hot streak with their electric vehicles. We think that the Equinox EV is up there with the best options in the compact SUV segment. It is also an incredibly cheap option, with the base model offering the best range and starting at an affordable $33,600.

Chevrolet understands that range is perhaps one of the biggest factors driving EV purchases right now, which is why every Equinox comes with a pretty hefty battery for a crossover at this price point. All models comes with DC fast charging, and Chevy claims that you can add 70 miles of range in as little as 10 minutes.

2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E RWD Extended Range

Maximum Range: 320 Miles

It may have the same name as Ford’s sports car, but don’t expect the same experience, the Mach-E is its own machine. It starts at $36,495, but you’ll want the extended battery pack, which is only offered on the Premium trim. This means you’ll spend at least $43,995 for a Mach-E that can go 320 miles on a single charge.

Performance Specifications

Thanks to a particularly torque-heavy setup, the Mach-E is able to accelerate pretty quickly, even in its least powerful guise. The base model comes with a 70 kWh battery, with the upgrade to the Extended pack being well worth it. Ford says you can plug your Mach-E into a 240-volt outlet at home, and it will replenish 80 percent of its charge “overnight”.

Its lineup is pretty complicated, but all you need to know is that the rear-wheel drive version of the RS offers the highest mileage of any model. It starts at around $56,990.

Chevrolet has installed a massive battery in their mainstream mid-size SUV, which gives it a ton of usable range. What is particularly impressive, is that the rear-wheel drive RS provides some pretty impressive performance figures at this price point as well. Chevy says it can charge at a rate of up to 190 kW, meaning it can hain 78 miles in just 10 minutes.

Hyundai has one of the strongest EV lineups on the market right now, and the Ioniq 6 sedan is certainly proof of this. The most affordable standard range model starts at $37,850, but you’ll want the bigger battery pack, meaning you’ll have to upgrade. The cheapest Ioniq 6 with the upgraded battery is the SE, starting at $42,800.

Performance Specifications

The Ioniq 6 doesn’t have a massive battery pack, meaning its range comes down to good efficiency. With a lower, more aerodynamic profile than a lot of other options on this list, it can go farther with less. It’s also faster than it looks. 2025 Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD

The long-range models are the only options available other than the Performance, with both the rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants offering impressive range. The rear-wheel drive Model 3 delivers the best overall range, beating most of its competitors by a large margin. If you want the more powerful dual-motor all-wheel drive version, you’ll still get an impressive 346 miles of range.
