Got yourself a shiny new Legion Go S? The latest handheld from Lenovo is powered by a Ryzen Z2 processor and has a more ergonomic design than its predecessor. While we wait until later in the year for the SteamOS version, you may have jumped on the bandwagon already and be looking for some accessories to improve your experience and look after your new gaming handheld.
Our number one Legion Go accessory is the Anker 747 Power Bank Bundle since it allows you to recharge the gaming handheld on the go., and we’ve picked this for the Legion Go S, too.
We’ve reviewed the Legion Go S and think it’ll be interesting to see how the SteamOS version shapes Lenovo’s take on this format. But early adopters are already diving in, and if you’re a proud Legion Go S owner, we’re here to guide you toward the best accessories to complement your device.
Anker 747 Power Bank Bundle
The Legion Go S offers slightly more battery life than the original Legion Go, but a power bank is still essential for gaming on the go. Not just any power bank will do—it needs enough wattage to handle the demands of a gaming handheld. Our top pick for both versions remains the same: an 87W, 25,600 mAh battery pack that includes a charging adapter for added convenience. It’s a reliable choice for value and performance and is often available at a discount.
DBrand Legion Go Tempered Glass Screen Protector
The Legion Go is more compact than its big brother but it still packs a lovely 8-inches of screen space for your games. You’ll want to look after it so a screen protector is a necessity. DBrand’s range of tempered glass screen protectors are the perfect shape and size for your Legion Go S, and have a special coating to minimize fingerprint marks. You get two screen protectors in this pack, and a squeegee for bubble-proof application.
JSAUX 6-in-1 Multifunctional Docking Station
If you want to play your Legion Go S on a monitor or TV, then you’re going to need a reliable dock. JSAUX is a reliable brand and makes this versatile dock that can be used both upright or flat, with a longer USB-C cable than most to put less pressure on your port. This will charge your Legion Go S while you play with a PD 100W power flow, and give you extra ports for other accessories.
You can’t detach the controls on the Legion Go S, so you’ll want to look after your sticks. Not only do stick grip just add another level of comfort when you are playing, they protect the material of the existing sticks from wear and tear. I have these same grips on my Steam Deck, and would recommend them for any handheld as the tiny sticks alone just don’t cut it.
JSAUX 180° USB-C to USB-C Adapter 2 Pack
“What’s the point of a USB-C adapter?” you ask, well when you’re constantly charging a device and plugging and unplugging, it’s easy for ports to succumb to wear and tear. Using an adapter future proofs your device ports, and in the case of the Legion Go S which is on the larger side, gives a little more leg room with different docks if you want to go with something other than the JSAUX.
SanDisk Extreme 512GB microSD Card
The Legion Go S has 1TB of internal storage, which sounds impressive, but even this may not be enough given the massive file sizes of modern games. If you want to store a larger library of titles then grab a SanDisk Extreme SD card, which delivers fast transfer speeds of up to 160MB/s. There are different capacities available.
Our handheld aficionado Rebecca reviewed the Tomtoc Arccos-g47 and recommends it for her Legion Go and it will fit the Legion Go S too if you are looking for a compact carry case that also fit all your extra bits and bobs like power banks and your charger. If you prefer something with a hard casing there is also the Butterfox case, but personally I prefer less bulky cases like this Tomtoc.
Artciety Foldable Bluetooth Keyboard
If you want to also use your Lenovo Legion Go S as a PC, you’ll need a keyboard and this foldable Bluetooth one is light and just as portable as the gaming handheld itself. You can connect to up to 3 devices simultaneously if you wish, it has a built in balance stand and even a touchpad so no need to bring along a mouse.
GameSir Cyclone 2 Controller
Since the Legion Go offers Bluetooth, you can easily connect accessories to it wirelessly. My favorite PC controller right now is the GameSir Cyclone 2, it has TMR sticks which are an upgrade from Hall Effect, so you won’t need to worry about stick drift – and it comes with a snazzy magnetic charging stand. If you’re playing your Legion Go S docked too, there’s the option of a 2.4Ghz dongle rather than fiddling with Bluetooth settings. It comes in Black or White but you’ll want to match the S aesthetic surely?

Whether you want to use your Legion Go S at home, or on a long commute, you’ll need the right accessories. From the right thing to carry it in and the correct wattage power banks to charge it with.
In our Legion Go S (Windows) review, we were ultimately disappointed with the handheld and wholly advise you to wait until the SteamOS edition launches later this year. Mainly because the cost of this handheld pits it against the Lenovo Legion Go and ASUS ROG Ally X, both of which can handle many more games at the cost of less storage (which you can expand anyway). That being said, if you’re here because you’ve already purchased and love your Legion Go S, we’re happy for you and want to make sure you have the right accessories to make it even better. Don’t treat your $729.99 handheld with dodgy Temu chargers, for example.
If I had to pick two must-haves from this list for you, my top choices would be the Anker 747 Power Bank Bundle and the DBrand tempered glass screen protector.
First, the power bank is an absolute essential—gaming handhelds are amazing (and I can’t live without mine), but their battery life rarely keeps up with long sessions, especially when traveling. A power bank ensures you’re not left hunting for a train seat with a plug socket (speaking from experience). Second, the tempered glass screen protector will prevent those annoying little scratches that inevitably happen when you’re pulling your device in and out of a bag. While the other accessories are great, these two are the real needs.
