Ripple tops crypto company donations to Trump’s inauguration
It’s no secret that crypto firms backed President Donald Trump’s campaign, pouring millions into his reelection campaign. And these firms kept on giving postelection, spending more than $13 million for the Trump-Vance inauguration week festivities, according to a Federal Election Commission report released April 20.
The committee raised a record $239 million for the inauguration, double what Trump raised ($107 million) for his first inaugural committee in 2017.
Ripple, whose XRP token has been enjoying a series of wins lately, was the largest crypto donor for the festivities this time around, spending $4.9 million. It was also the second-largest donor to the inauguration overall, with poultry producer Pilgrim topping the overall list with its $5 million donation.
Robinhood, which offers crypto alongside equities trading, followed next with a $2 million donation.
(Robinhood Markets Inc. is the parent company of Sherwood Media, an independently operated media company.)
The FEC filing shows that additional big crypto donors included:
-
Coinbase: $1 million
-
Solana Labs: $1 million
-
Circle: $1 million
-
Galaxy Digital: $1 million
-
Paradigm Operations: $1 million
-
Kraken: $1 million
-
Consensys: $100,000
This comes on the heels of the millions poured into the campaign via Fairshake, a pro-crypto PAC to advance more crypto-friendly legislation and candidates. The PAC raised more than $260 million in 2024 from companies including Coinbase and Ripple.
