Bitcoin, Ethereum Fall Following Jobless Claims Data; Kava, Lido DAO Among Top Losers


Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) traded lower, but the cryptocurrency prices remained above the $26,000 level on Thursday.

Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) also recorded losses, but traded above the key $1,800 mark this morning.

U.S. initial jobless claims rose to 261,000 in the week ended June 3, the highest level since Oct. 2021, and above market estimates of 235,000.

Terra Classic (CRYPTO: LUNC) was the top gainer over the prior 24 hours, while Kava (CRYPTO: KAVA) turned out to be the biggest loser.

At the time of writing, the global crypto market cap fell to $1.1 trillion, recording a 24-hour decline of 1.5%. BTC was trading lower by 1.2% at $26,497 while ETH fell by around 1% to $1,848 on Thursday.
