Bitcoin Hits $90,000 For First Time Since Early March


Bitcoin is on the rise this week.

Bitcoin (BTCUSD) rose Tuesday, topping $90,000 for the first time since early March. The move has the estimated total market capitalization of crypto at above $2.8 trillion. (Read Investopedia’s live coverage of today’s markets here.)

Several crypto stocks were rising alongside bitcoin. Shares of crypto exchange Coinbase (COIN) are up about 7%. Mara Holdings (MARA), a Bitcoin miner, is up nearly 10%, while bitcoin buyer Strategy (MSTR), formerly MicroStrategy, was up about 8%.

Coinbase is set to report earnings soon: Its results are due May 8.

Bitcoin changed hands below $80,000 earlier this month.
