Bitcoin price slides for second day

Bitcoin continued its downward slide on Thursday, in a sign its record-breaking rally may have come to an end.

The crytocurrency has fallen by as much as 8.4pc over the past two days, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. It has dipped below its 10-day moving average.

It comes after the price of Bitcoin hit an all-time high earlier this month, surging to as high as $42,000 (£30,600) and taking the total value of all Bitcoins in circulation to more than $700bn. This was a significant jump from around $10,000 three months ago.

Since its peak, it has dipped, however, and was this morning trading at just under $35,000.
