Bose Ultra Open Earbuds review 2025

As someone who remembers cassette tapes, I can say with some conviction that our tech overlords have revolutionised the audio experience. But while we no longer have to battle with wires blowing in the wind and songs that sound like they’re being streamed through a tunnel, if there’s one customer who isn’t being served, it’s the accessorised runner.

I pound the pavements of my neighbourhood daily – fuelled by thumping tunes and side-splitting podcasts – and I’m never without multiple earrings.

But nothing has the power to stop you in your tracks quite like an earbud breaking free. So news of the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds – inspired by cuff-style earrings – was music to my accessorised ears.

The fit is flawless; no matter how many hoops or studs you’re rocking, they hug your ears with a light, secure grip that stays put all day, even on the move (they didn’t budge an inch during a recent half marathon).

The sound is immersive while allowing for spatial awareness (crucial when you’re running around people and roads). And with up to seven hours of battery life, you can truly go the distance.
