Build your own custom gaming PC with RTX graphics and save 10% at HP

The truth is it doesn’t matter if it’s Black Friday, Purple Wednesday, or Polkadot Monday, you’re hardly going to be able to find the RTX 30xx series graphics cards in stock, and you definitely won’t see them on sale. Your only hope is to avoid the scalpers and the price hikers and get one for as close to MSRP as possible. The best way to do that is to buy your card inside a prebuilt gaming PC, and no one is making that easier than HP this holiday season. Custom build your HP Omen 30L over at HP and if your configuration is over $1,000 you can save an extra 10% off the price with the code WINTER10.

You can customize it however you want with upgrades to RAM, storage, and more. Pick the graphics card you want, and you’ll find the prices even for the upgrades are pretty reasonable. Going with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, for example, only costs an extra $870, which is about $100 over MSRP. Some changes will require you to upgrade the chassis or power supply so keep that in mind, but the site should warn you.

If you stick with the basic configuration, what you end up with is an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X processor with up to 4.6GHz speeds, a single HyperX 8GB DDR4 RAM stick, a WD Black 256GB M.2 NVMe solid state drive for storage, and an AMD Radeon RX 5500 graphics card.

The RAM upgrade prices are a little ridiculous to me, especially since we’re in the middle of Black Friday right now. I would keep the default option and then upgrade later with some discounted options in our Black Friday PC parts guide. The same is true for the storage since there are empty bays in the case. Just add more storage later as you need it.

The upgrades I would recommend would be to the RTX 3080 graphics card (and subsequently the chassis needed to support it), and upgrading the networking to Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5. With those upgrades you get a $1,914.99 gaming PC for just $1,633.49. That’s a nice discount and you aren’t getting ripped off on the graphics card price.
