If you were waiting to purchase the Ear 1 wireless earbuds from Nothing, now is the time to take action. The company’s CEO, Carl Pei, took to Twitter this morning to announce that the price of the in-ear headphones will go up 50% on October 26th.

In a follow-up tweet, Pei explains that in the year since the Ear 1 went into development, the company increased its engineering staff from three to 185 people. He also mentions that the Ear 1 has received more than 15 firmware updates and are a much different product than they were at launch. He also touts that the company’s premier product sold over 600,000 units, which enabled it to move into other products, like smartphones. Pei rounds out his tweet thread with an invitation for customers to buy the Ear 1 before the price hike.
Nothing isn’t the only tech company raising prices. Just recently, Sony announced an increase for new PS5 sales. And within the year, we’ve seen price hikes from Wyze, Apple, Meta, and more. Streaming services are more expensive. Even components like SSDs are going up. So, it’s not a huge surprise that Nothing is making this move. Get the stuff you want now; 2023 looks like it’s going to be an expensive year.
