Apple Music is one of the best music streaming platforms out there but is it available on Android? With more than 78 million subscribers as of June 2021, Apple Music is the second-largest music streaming platform globally after Spotify, which had 188 million paying subscribers in Q2, 2022. Apple’s music streaming service costs $9.99 per month for the individual plan, while the family plan is charged at $14.99 per month. The company also offers a $5.99 student plan and a $4.99 voice plan, although the latter has several restrictions and missing features.
While Apple Music offers a massive catalog of songs from every conceivable genre, it has come under fire recently for its decision to reduce the trial period for new subscribers. Until January 2022, Apple Music had been offering a generous three-month trial period to new subscribers, but that changed in February when the company cut down on the free trial period to one month. Sensing an opportunity to grab new subscribers and further increase its lead over Apple Music, Spotify recently increased its own trial period to three months, although the offer is only available for a limited period.
Unlike most of Apple’s streaming services and subscription offerings, Apple Music is available on a number of non-Apple platforms, including Android and Windows. Android users can download the Apple Music app from the Play Store like any other streaming app, such as Spotify or Netflix. The Apple Music app is pre-installed on the iPhone, meaning users do not have to download it manually from the App Store.
Apple Music On Android, Windows, And Chromebooks
While most people stream music on their mobile phones, Apple Music is also available on just about all Apple hardware, including iPad, iPod Touch, Mac, Apple TV, HomePod, and Apple Watch. Windows users can also subscribe to Apple Music, but through the old iTunes app. Other non-Apple devices that support Apple Music include Chromebooks, Amazon Echo devices, Google Nest smart speakers, and various smart TV platforms. It is also available on the web.
Apple Music offers a vast catalog of 90 million songs and more than 30,000 curated playlists. Alongside on-demand music, the service also includes three internet radio stations, including Apple Music 1, Apple Music Hits and Apple Music Country. The stations are available 24×7 in more than 200 countries. While Apple Music started off slow and received mixed reviews when it debuted back in 2015, it has come a long way in the past few years and is now one of the most popular music streaming services globally.
