Cape Coral woman finds empty Apple Watch box when it lands on her doorstep

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – ‘Tis the season for family, friends, and unfortunately, package poachers!

Many are ordering their gifts online early this year to make sure they end up in the right hands on the holiday but delivery issues are already hitting Cape Coral.

One Cape Coral woman said she received numerous boxes containing two pairs of Apple Airpod Pros and two Apple Watches to her Surfside Boulevard home. When she retrieved her boxes, she noticed one of them felt a little off.

“When I brought them in I took the top box off and the middle box looked like it had been tampered with,” the woman said.

When the woman opened the box, she noticed the box for the Apple Watch was there but the watch was gone.

“I mean if you’re going to steal-why not steal them all?” the woman said.

She ordered the gadgets from Target.com and she said the packages were delivered by FedEx. She has reached out to both companies but she says they are referring her to the other company.

A home security camera shows the delivery driver leaving the boxes on her front door but the video doesn’t show anyone touching the boxes before the woman retrieves them.

Cape Coral police gathered fingerprints and told the woman she wasn’t the only theft victim of this sort recently in Cape Coral.

“Same thing, the woman opened up her box and the box for the item was there but the watch was not,” the woman stated.
