Choi Jong-In Best Builds

In this section, you’ll find TWO best builds for Choi Jong-In.

The first build recommends the best possible Weapon and Artifacts for Choi Jong-In. Naturally, those are high-value gear that aren’t easily acquired. So, we have another beginner-friendly build until you get better weapons and artifacts.

Attack-Heavy Build

To get the best out of Choi Jong-In, you need to focus on Attack, Defense Penetration, and Damage Increase. The following weapon and artifacts – directly or indirectly – boost all those stats.

Best Weapon

Weapon Effects
Equivalent Exchange icon

Equivalent Exchange
Increases users Attack by 5%*.
When attacking targets Burned by Choi Jong-In, the target’s defense decreases by 7%* for 5 seconds.
*damage percentage increases with level increase

Equivalent Exchange is Choi Jong-In’s exclusive weapon and the effects show exactly why. Not only will you get an Attack boost but you also massively decrease the enemy’s defense once you have burned them.

Moreover, a maxed out Equivalent Exchange further boost the user’s Attack, Defense, and HP by 10%.

Best Artifacts

Artifacts Effects
One-hit Kill icon - Solo Leveling: AriseOne-hit Kill icon - Solo Leveling: Arise
One-hit Kill
Equip 2 Pieces: Increases Ultimate Skill damage by 25%.
Equip 4 Pieces: Decreases Ultimate Skill cooldown by 40%.
Solo Leveling: Arise - Artifact Set - ExecutionerSolo Leveling: Arise - Artifact Set - Executioner
Executioner
Equip 2 Pieces: When attacking enemies with 40% or less HP, increases the user’s damage dealt by 8%.
Equip 4 Pieces: HP condition changes to 70% and Damage Increase effect increases to 20%.

End of Days deals massive amounts of damage but has one of the longest cooldowns in the game. One-hit Kill takes care of both those things. You get a damage increase by using 2 pieces and reduce the cooldown if you equip 2 more.

If you’re not too bothered by the long cooldown, equip 2 pieces of the Armed artifact to boost your Choi Jong-In attack.

As for the second set, Executioner seems the best fit to me as it plays on the enemy’s HP. The lower their HP the sooner you’ll finish them off with Executioner equipped.

Alternate Build

For those who can’t get their hands on the exclusive weapon and the above-mentioned artifacts, here are some alternate options that are a bit easier to get.

Best Weapon

Weapon Effects
Steel Longsword icon - Solo Leveling: Arise

Steel Longsword
Elemental weakness damage increases by 4.5%*.
*damage percentage increases with level increase

The Steel Longsword is an SR-rarity weapon the boosts the elemental weakness damage. When facing an enemy vulnerable to Fire, Choi Jong-In’s damage will get a boost. A maxed out Steel Longsword will also increase the user’s Attack, Defense, and HP by 10%.

If you’re still stuck with R-rarity weapons, the Sword or the Essence of Magic book are decent choices too.

Best Artifacts

Artifacts Effects
Armed icon - Solo Leveing: Arise ArtifactsArmed icon - Solo Leveing: Arise Artifacts
Armed
Equip 2 Pieces: Increases user’s Attack by 5%.
Equip 4 Pieces: Ignores 15% of target’s defense when attacking.
Berserker icons - Solo Leveling: Arise Artifacts
Berserker icons - Solo Leveling: Arise Artifacts
Berserker
Equip 2 Pieces: When the user has 50% or less HP, damage dealt increases by 15%.
Equip 4 Pieces: When the user has 70% or less, damage dealt increased by 30%.

If you are yet to acquire the One-hit Kill and Executioner gearsets, these two are the best second choices.

2 pieces of Armed provide a decent Attack boost but with all 4 pieces equipped you get an Attack and Defense Penetration boost.

Berserker provides a massive Damage Increase as you lose HP. So, in a way, these two artifacts directly enhance all three recommended stats of Choi Jong-In.

Since Choi Jung-in can’t deal Crit Damage, you want to stay away from Crit-based weapons and artifacts when building this Fire Mage. You can use any of the artifacts and weapons recommended above in any combination for a decent Choi Jong-In build.
