Circle To Search: Exclusive On Samsung And Google Until Q4 2024
Circle to Search is the new feature developed by Google that allows you to circle or scribble on anything on your screen and have it searched via Google immediately. Yeah, it’s hard to say that’s not pretty cool.
The feature initially launched on the Samsung S24 devices last month but found its way to Google’s Pixels almost immediately after. The feature changes how easy it is to search for things on your Samsung or Pixel smartphone, so it isn’t surprising that this feature won’t be exclusive for long.
According to a now-edited press release from Samsung in the Netherlands, Circle to Search is expected to find its way to other Android manufacturers starting from October 5 this year. After translating the source, the reported line is now missing, so whether that means anything will change is unsure.
What Makes Circle To Search So Great?
You might be shouting at me through your screen, “Circle to Search isn’t revolutionary! You’ve been able to do this kind of stuff already by using Google Lens!”. I hear you, but the one fact of the matter is that it has never been this intuitive or convenient.
Now, you only need to hold down your Home button like you’re trying to launch Google Assistant. Then, circle on whatever you want to search. Doing the same thing with Google Lens takes multiple steps.
Do you want to buy something that someone is wearing in a photo? Circle and search it, and you’ll get immediate links you can use to purchase it. Do you want to get an explanation about a sentence or the definition of a word? Activate this feature and highlight the word or sentence you’re inquiring about. There’s a whole lot that Circle to Search can do, and you should explore all the things it can do for you.
Is AI Going To Be The Next Big Buzzword In Upcoming Smartphones?
The Pixel 8 series and the Galaxy S24 lineup launched with AI as a big aspect of their marketing material. The good thing is that in the modern age, AI is less gimmicky than ever, and the average user can see how AI helps with things.
Of course, with two of the biggest smartphone players embracing the AI trend, you can expect it to become a major focus for other brands following. Apple might not be in a particular rush, as historically, they tend not to jump on trends as fast as other manufacturers do, but other Android smartphone makers will likely ride this wave.
