But right now, you can snag a 64GB 2020 Apple iPad Air for $499.99 on Amazon (it’s usually $599.00) for the first time since January. That’s the lowest price of the year on Amazon, according to pricing data from CamelCamelCamel. And if you’re anything like me, you’ll be stoked to know that it comes in four different colors at this price: green, rose gold, silver, sky blue and space gray. But this iPad may not be for everyone. Here’s what you should know before you buy.

What reviewers say about the 2020 Apple iPad Air: PC Mag said “the fourth-generation iPad Air gives you the power of an iPad Pro for less money, making it the best Apple tablet to buy in 2020.” Its design “looks and feels like an iPad Pro” and its performance is “impeccable,” the reviewer writes. “No matter what I was doing, whether it was video chats, action games, or Apple Pencil-enabled art programs, it was smooth and responsive.” The Verge agrees, saying “Apple has taken the design from the more expensive iPad Pro and brought it down to a more reasonable price point.” Battery life leaves something to be desired, but if you’re using it as a work computer “it will get you to dinner for sure.”
Reviewers at Amazon echo these sentiments, with many folks saying it’s one of the best tablets they’ve used. “I’ve owned three or four iPads, a few Android tablets, and a few convertible touchscreen laptops running various OSes,” one reviewer writes, “But this device, with the [Apple] Pencil, is leaps and bounds better than any other tablet I’ve used.”
Other things to consider: 64GB isn’t a huge amount of storage, which may seem like “a good enough amount today but may feel cramped over time,” writes The Verge. One reviewer on Amazon said that the “battery life isn’t as good as I would have liked it to be,” but “the screen quality, the sound system, and the graphics and speed make up for it.”
