CES 2021 is just around the corner, so we’re starting to see more devices get announced by major manufacturers (via The Verge). Today, Dell announced refreshed versions of its Latitude laptops, including new devices from its Latitude 5000, 7000 and 9000 lineups. The new laptops feature Intel’s 11th Gen vPro processors that will be available in March 2021.
The flagship devices from the newly refreshed Latitude lineups are the Latitude 9420 and 9520. The Latitude 9420 starts at $1,949, but the Latitude 9520 doesn’t have pricing details at this time. Both laptops will be available this spring.
The Latitude 9420 comes with up to an Intel Core i7 processor with integrated Iris XE graphics. It’s a 14-inch laptop, and you’ll be able to order it with a 2-in-1 configuration with a 2560 x 1600 display or a traditional laptop configuration with a 1080p display. On the inside, the Latitude 9420 has up to 32GB of RAM and up to a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD. The Latitude 9420 has optional 5G support through the Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 or LTE support through the Snapdragon X20.
The Latitude 9420 is built with video conferencing in mind. It has two top-firing speakers as well as two bottom-firing speakers. It also features four noise-canceling microphones. The laptop also has a feature called “SafeShutter,” which covers the IR camera with a physical shutter. The camera can open automatically when you enable a call and also has a physical button to shut it down.
The Latitude 9520 is a larger 15.6-inch laptop. It also features an 11th Gen Intel vPro chip and has several of the same features as the Latitude 9420, including SafeShutter and front-firing speakers. It will be available with a 4K UHD InfinityEdge display that can reach 500 nits of brightness. As you’d expect from a high-end business laptop, it has plenty of ports, including USB-C, HDMI, and an SD card slot. It also has options for 5G or LTE.
The Latitude 7520 joins Dell’s Latitude 7000 series, bringing a larger 15.6-inch configuration to the lineup. The 13.3-inch Latitude 7230 and 14-inch Latitude 7420 were updated as well. All three of the new 7000 series laptops come with Intel’s 11th Gen vPro processors and up to 32GB of RAM. The 7000 series laptops have an option for LTE support but do not have an option for 5G. The new 7000 series laptops will be available on March 30, 2021, starting at $999.
The Latitude 5000 series has a refreshed 5320, 5420, and 5520, which are 13.3-inches, 14-inches, and 15.6-inches, respectively. They also have the new 11th Gen Intel vPro chips inside. The Latitude 5000 series laptops will be available on January 12, 2021, with the 14-inch 5420 starting at $1,049.
