A gaming headset shouldn’t just help you hear what’s going on in a game. Instead, it should immerse you in sound, making it feel more like you’re actually in the game. That’s what the EKSA E1000 Gaming Headset aims to do with incredible stereo surround sound. I got the chance to try out headset to see just how well it sounds during actual game play.

Overview of Features
Audio quality is front and center with the EKSA E1000 Gaming Headset. It’s equipped with a USB audio chip featuring 7.1 surround sound. When you combine this with the 50mm magnetic neodymium driver, you get impressive stereo quality sound.
The plug-and-play design lets you easily connect to your computer and PS4/PS5. There are no extra drivers or software to install.
Easily control the volume and mic with the switch on the cable. The cardioid microphone drastically reduces background noise to ensure everyone hears you and not what’s going on outside of the game. The omnidirectional mic rotates up to 120 degrees.
The lengthy 2.2 m (86.6 in.) cable gives you ample room to sit back and relax while playing. The braided cable is also durable and flexible.
The thick, soft earpads and headband let you wear the headset for hours comfortably. It’s also easy to adjust the headband to fit exactly the way you want.
If incredible sound and comfort aren’t enough, the headset also lights up with a continuous rainbow stream, ensuring that you look great while wearing them.
EKSA and the game My Time at Sandrock have partnered to create a limited edition version of the headset. The packaging features scenes from the game, and you also get special postcards and a commemorative ticket.
In the Box
The EKSA E1000 Gaming Headset is already in the included thick carrying pouch to keep the headset clean and protected. In addition to the headset itself, you also get the postcards and ticket. Of course, you don’t have to have the game to enjoy this headset. The extras are just a nice bonus if you loved My Time at Portia and are eager to try My Time at Sandrock too.
Connecting
I don’t have a PS4 or PS5, so I tested the EKSA E1000 Gaming Headset on my Windows PC while playing My Time at Sandrock through Steam. Connecting really was as easy as plugging in the USB cable. I immediately had sound, and the headset looked nice with the colorful lights.
The fabric covering the cable does make it much easier to move around than standard cables. I honestly prefer braided cables, as they seem to last longer and are easier to store without worrying about kinks.
The EKSA E1000 Gaming Headset in Use
Of course, looking good is just a small part of the equation. The next step is comfort. I love that when you adjust the headband, you have to pull firmly, and it clicks into place with each movement so that you know it’s not going to fall out of place. And you don’t need to worry about accidentally adjusting your headband when taking it on and off.
The earpads on the EKSA E1000 Gaming Headset are large enough to fit your ear – even around smaller earrings, they are still incredibly comfortable. The thick cushioned pad in the headband provides ample comfort on your head, so you’re not going to get distracted with the headband digging in.
I also noticed that even after wearing these for a few hours, the breathable pads ensured my ears stayed cool. After all, no one likes sweating around their headset.
But how do they sound? Are they really capable of stereo quality? The answer is a resounding yes. My first round of testing was with My Time at Sandrock. I could hear every sound of the animals on the farm, machines running, the rumble of the train as I arrived in town, and every clang of my pick axe. It was crystal clear and made the game feel much more immersive.
What I loved was that I could easily pinpoint where sounds were coming from. Instead of just throwing sound at you, you’re fully surrounded by sounds coming from different angles to make for a much better gaming experience.
Even better, you hear little to nothing going on around you outside of your game. Just shut out the world and enjoy the game.
Naturally, I had to test the sound on more than just games. Enjoy full, rich, stereo quality sound while listening to Spotify or any music on your device. This works well if you want a custom soundtrack while gaming. I also found the headset made movies sound amazing, giving you an almost theater feel from home without an expensive audio setup.
Using the Mic
When it comes to the mic, it moves easily but stays in place well. I tested the mic with a few friends. Even with the TV turned up, they couldn’t hear anything but me. I had to get within a few feet of the TV before they could hear it, and trust me when I say it was loud.
I also tested it with a few video conferencing tools, including Google Meet, Zoom, and Skype. If you need a headset that cancels out background noise well and lets you hear others well, you can’t go wrong with the EKSA E1000 Gaming Headset.
Final Thoughts
The EKSA E1000 Gaming Headset is an impressive headset with immersive sound that makes games, music, movies, and more come to life. It’s easy to forget anything else is going on when you’re listening through this headset. Plus, it looks great with the RGB lights when gaming at night.
You can pick up your own EKSA E1000 Gaming Headset for just $32.99, a surprisingly low price for such high quality sound.
