Footage of Elden Ring, FromSoftware’s upcoming action RPG that the studio itself considers the spritual successor to Dark Souls, has allegedly leaked online. According to journalist Jeff Grubb, the gameplay was recorded on a base Xbox One console. The footage doesn’t show anything very significant, although based on the character’s jumps in the gameplay, it appears that players will be able to jump more fluidly in Elden Ring than in most previous FromSoftware games.
It’s important to take leaks with a grain of salt, although based on the visual location of the leaked gameplay, it’s likely that the leak is real since the surrounding environment matches what has been seen in official screenshots. You can watch the leaked footage below:
If the leak is real, it marks the first time that we’ve seen Elden Ring gameplay outside of official trailers. We expect to see more of Elden Ring soon since the game is slated to release on Jan. 21, 2022, but this small tidbit is sure to get fans excited in the meantime.
