Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Eli Apple is something of a villain in the New Orleans area.
As Saints fans found out on Sunday, sometimes the bad guys win.
Long story short, Apple has a long, long history of spats with former Saints players and even fans. The Dome was notably louder with boos every time his name got called out over the PA. But he kept it mild and quiet, as he has for most of his tenure with the Bengals, during the leadup to their Week 6 encounter.
And while Apple was far from perfect in the 30-26 Bengals win, he did make the final play of the game on fourth down by getting involved in a pass breakup that sealed it.
Minutes after the last critical play of the game, Apple made sure to hit social media with a message:
