EPA Clean Air Panel Clears Path for Review of Ozone Standards

The Clean Air Act Advisory Committee approved the EPA’s science assessment for ozone, further clearing the way for agency review of air quality standards.

The 2020 Integrated Science Assessment “provides a scientifically sound foundation for the Agency’s reconsideration” of 2020 National Ambient Air Quality Standards for ozone, according to the letter sent to the Environmental Protection Agency on Nov. 22.

  • The CASAC panel paused review of the agency’s ozone policy assessment in June, citing the need to more closely review the underlying science.
