One UI 6.1 Looks Set To Find Its Way To Galaxy S23 Phones Later This Week
One UI 6.1 debuted with the S24 series, so naturally, eyes were on the S23 lineup as the next phones to receive the update. The only question was when they’d be fortunate enough to receive this update, especially since Samsung doesn’t have a track record of being the snappiest brand to push out major software updates.
However, thanks to sharp eyes from folks at SamMobile, we know that the One UI 6.1 for the Samsung Galaxy S23 phones is expected to start rolling out on March 28th. This aligns with what Samsung Vietnam and Samsung Korea earlier stated. This confirmation is thanks to a push notification sent out by Samsung China with the exact date mentioned.
Of course, this update will hit the S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra, but surprisingly, it also looks set to come for the S23 FE on the same date, which isn’t usually the trend with Samsung when there are FE models available. However, this seemed to be confirmed through a Samsung Korea forum post.
You can expect this update to hit major markets in Asia, including Korea, China, and India, as well as Europe. Rollouts tend not to start simultaneously worldwide, and this one won’t (it’s confirmed Canada will need to wait a tad longer), but we’re going to hope that this one won’t take too long to reach all markets.
When Will The Fifth-Generation Of Samsung Foldables Get One UI 6.1?
If you have a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 or Z Fold 5, you’re probably wondering when you’ll get the One UI 6.1 love as well. If tipster Tarun Vats on X is to be believed, you’re likely to also get the One UI 6.1 updates for your foldables on the same date: March 28th.
When Can We Expect One UI 6.1 For All The Older And Eligible Samsung Smartphones?
There’s no official confirmation in the form of a push notification or anything like that, but if the same tipster is to be believed, the Samsung Galaxy S22 series and the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE (by extension, the rest of the S21 series, I’d assume) will receive the big update in April. This is all based on his replies to queries in the comments, so let’s hope they’re as valid as the S23 rumors. The Galaxy Tab S9 may also receive the update soon.
