TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber Review – The Pros!

It’s Comfy!

TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber Review

The first thing I really liked about the TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber is just how comfortable it is to wear. It fits snugly around my neck with just the right amount of weight, making it durable and secure without slipping and sliding around. This is super important, especially during hotter weather when your neck might be sweating, and the device might slip and slide all around, especially when doing activities like running, jogging, hiking, etc.

The comfort and snugness of the fit on my neck really stood out to me the second I put this thing on. It really held up after I wore it for a few hours while hiking and running around my hometown.

It’s Damn Cold

TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber Review

I was most excited to test this out during the summer because it can get pretty hot here in Oregon, with multiple stretches of 100-plus degrees Fahrenheit.

And so I’m sure this thing can spit out some heat, but I was more curious about its cooling qualities, and it lived up to that. Sure, it did make a lot of noise, which I will discuss later in this article. Still, it did put out a steady stream of very cool air right up at the nape of my neck and surrounding my neck, which was a game-changer on some of these hot Oregon days out hiking around Mount Hood, which used to be a burden during some of these hotter times of the Oregon summer, which now, thanks to the TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber, has become quite manageable, enjoyable, and all the above.

It Really Does Charge Fast

The box mentions the TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber charges quickly, but I didn’t think much of it initially. I assumed I’d charge it at home before heading out for hikes or walks. However, I was really impressed by how fast the battery charged. This feature is a game changer for traveling and hiking since you can easily charge it in your car, even with low-power output sources like car chargers or cigarette lighter adapters.

Despite these low power draw, the TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber charges very quickly. You don’t need to leave it charging overnight; it reaches a full charge in about half an hour, especially with a USB-C charger. Damn impressive if you ask me!

It’s Not Just Marketing Buzzwords

TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber Review

The copywriting on the box used buzzwords like immersive cooling, and I thought that was just marketing jargon. But using this thing walking around town in the 100-plus degree Oregon heat wave that we recently had proved it’s more than just a buzzword, and I was impressed by just how all-encompassing the cooling air felt around pretty much all of the base of my head, which is where I usually tend to sweat the most.

I was really impressed by how genuinely immersive the cooling was with the TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber. It didn’t just seem like a marketing buzzword. They seemed to put their money, or at least their cool air, where their mouth was, and it was definitely something to write home about.

And The Cons

While tech like this often looks flashy, it often comes with a few downsides and it’s important to weigh whether those imperfections are worth it for the cool features it brings to your life, workflow, and adventures.

Let’s discuss the two main areas where the TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber didn’t quite meet my expectations.

It’s Far From Silent

TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber Review

I touched on this earlier, but the fan noise is noticeable with the TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber resting so close to your ears. It’s a subtle, ambient white noise that blends into the background after a few minutes and while not a significant drawback, it was something I noticed it immediately upon turning it on, even before leaving the house.

In real-world use, like during walks or hikes, I usually have headphones on, which would be enough to mask the fan noise. But getting used to the product for this dedicated review, I didn’t want to dilute my opinions by throwing headphones on or anything which wouldn’t give me a top-to-bottom experience of what the neck-worn AC unit could offer. Under these conditions, the noise was definitely audible even while holding the fan at arm’s length.

This isn’t a deal-breaker, but it might be a consideration for those seeking a quieter experience, as the fan noise was the main factor preventing it from being completely “immersive.”

It’s Pricey For What It Is

TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber Review

Another important consideration is the cost. The TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber is not a cheap product, especially for what it offers. At the time of writing, it ranges from $279 to $330 USD. This is a significant investment for this type of technology.

Whether it’s worth the price depends on how you plan to use it and who the user is. I’ll cover that in the next section of this review. It’s also important to remember that there are often flash sales, and new products are frequently introduced, which could affect the price over time. Depending on when you read this, the price may have dropped, but it is still a factor that could deter some buyers.

Let’s use this as a perfect segue to discuss who this product is ideal for and determine if it’s right for you. We’ll explore how the TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber fits into your needs as a user and consumer.

Is The TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber Right For Me?

Hikers / Backpackers

I spend a lot of time backpacking around Mount Hood and throughout the Cascade Range in the Pacific Northwest. If you’re an avid backpacker, the TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber would be a fantastic addition to your gear. Despite cooler base camp temperatures, it can get hot quickly at higher altitudes. This lightweight, easy-to-charge air cooler is ideal for these longer hikes.

The quick-charging battery is a big perk.

You can easily charge it with a portable battery pack, which I always carry in my trail kit. This feature helps manage the high heat temperatures often found in higher elevations.

Outdoor Workers

If your work involves spending a lot of time outdoors and working with your hands, the TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber could be a great investment. While pricier, using it daily will provide significant value over time. The cooling effect is particularly amazing during hot summer, making those sweltering days much more manageable.

Additionally, its ability to generate cold air can significantly improve comfort during repetitive outdoor tasks. The warming features also become valuable as the weather transitions to colder months. Despite the upfront cost, the long-term benefits, especially in comfort and efficiency, make it a worthwhile purchase for anyone working outside in various weather conditions.

Trail runners

I’ve started off this section saying trail runners, but really, I do mean all runners. I’m just saying trail runners specifically because I remember back in the days when I was doing a lot of trail running, especially around Eugene. They had a lot of bark dust trails, especially longer runs. A mix of sweat and just the dust from the bark dust would create this sense of like a layer of grime all around my face, which was just super gross.

So the TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber really fits snugly and doesn’t get jostled around even on more rugged bumps and jostles of more rugged running. The powerful cooling air that it spits out really helps prevent that buildup of sweat all up around the nooks and crannies of your necks and ears and stuff like that.

It does wonders in helping the dust and dirt that can really create that gross, nasty film around you on longer runs. It helps prevent that and leads to a cooler, cleaner run, especially over longer trails, but honestly, any running as well. If you’re out on the running pavement, trails, tracks, whatever, this can be a really big game changer for you.

Final Thoughts

To wrap things up, the biggest takeaway with the TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber is its ability to deliver on its marketing promises. Despite my initial skepticism, this product truly offers a practical cooling experience. The immersive cooling technology works impressively, and you really need to try it to appreciate its impact.

It’s perfect for a wide range of users. I focused on its cooling capabilities, which were especially useful during the hot Oregon summer and a recent heat wave. It will be a valuable tool year-round if its warming features are as effective as its cooling.

The main drawback is the price. At $279, it’s a significant investment for a portable neck cooler. However, this product is a worthwhile investment if you spend much time working or enjoying outdoor activities. It will be an invaluable addition to your toolkit, providing comfort and utility in various conditions.
