The first thing I really liked about the TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber is just how comfortable it is to wear. It fits snugly around my neck with just the right amount of weight, making it durable and secure without slipping and sliding around. This is super important, especially during hotter weather when your neck might be sweating, and the device might slip and slide all around, especially when doing activities like running, jogging, hiking, etc.

It’s Damn Cold
I was most excited to test this out during the summer because it can get pretty hot here in Oregon, with multiple stretches of 100-plus degrees Fahrenheit.
And so I’m sure this thing can spit out some heat, but I was more curious about its cooling qualities, and it lived up to that. Sure, it did make a lot of noise, which I will discuss later in this article. Still, it did put out a steady stream of very cool air right up at the nape of my neck and surrounding my neck, which was a game-changer on some of these hot Oregon days out hiking around Mount Hood, which used to be a burden during some of these hotter times of the Oregon summer, which now, thanks to the TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber, has become quite manageable, enjoyable, and all the above.

The box mentions the TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber charges quickly, but I didn’t think much of it initially. I assumed I’d charge it at home before heading out for hikes or walks. However, I was really impressed by how fast the battery charged. This feature is a game changer for traveling and hiking since you can easily charge it in your car, even with low-power output sources like car chargers or cigarette lighter adapters.
Despite these low power draw, the TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber charges very quickly. You don’t need to leave it charging overnight; it reaches a full charge in about half an hour, especially with a USB-C charger. Damn impressive if you ask me!

It’s a subtle, ambient white noise that blends into the background after a few minutes and while not a significant drawback, it was something I noticed it immediately upon turning it on, even before leaving the house.
In real-world use, like during walks or hikes, I usually have headphones on, which would be enough to mask the fan noise. But getting used to the product for this dedicated review, I didn’t want to dilute my opinions by throwing headphones on or anything which wouldn’t give me a top-to-bottom experience of what the neck-worn AC unit could offer. Under these conditions, the noise was definitely audible even while holding the fan at arm’s length.

I’ve started off this section saying trail runners, but really, I do mean all runners. I’m just saying trail runners specifically because I remember back in the days when I was doing a lot of trail running, especially around Eugene. They had a lot of bark dust trails, especially longer runs. A mix of sweat and just the dust from the bark dust would create this sense of like a layer of grime all around my face, which was just super gross.
So the TORRAS COOLiFY Cyber really fits snugly and doesn’t get jostled around even on more rugged bumps and jostles of more rugged running. The powerful cooling air that it spits out really helps prevent that buildup of sweat all up around the nooks and crannies of your necks and ears and stuff like that.
It does wonders in helping the dust and dirt that can really create that gross, nasty film around you on longer runs. It helps prevent that and leads to a cooler, cleaner run, especially over longer trails, but honestly, any running as well. If you’re out on the running pavement, trails, tracks, whatever, this can be a really big game changer for you.
