Standing desks aren’t cheap, but Flexispot offers a wide range of options to suit various setups and budgets. Is the Flexispot Pro Plus Standing Desk E7 worth it?
A desk is one of the most important parts of any gaming setup, but it’d be fair to say it perhaps doesn’t get as much thought as other parts of your gaming toolkit. Sure, you’ve got your high refresh-rate monitor, your lightning-fast mouse and your clackety keyboard, but what are you putting them on? Enter the Flexispot Pro Plus Standing Desk E7.
There are plenty of options out there, but in today’s era of working from home, standing desks are becoming more and more common, and the E7 is a great option for your home office, gaming room, or bedroom and features plenty of build-to-order options to tailor it to your needs.
Setup, stand up
The Flexispot desk makes work, and play, a joy.
For the purposes of this review, I was sent the E7 with the 80″ x 30″ desktop, both in black. The first thing that struck me when the group of varying sizes of cardboard box arrived was just how well laid out the pieces were.
What helps is that the instructions are also exceedingly clear, and those, combined with clear indications on which screws and bolts to use, meant I was able to assemble it in around an hour on my own. With that said, you will need to flip the desk over once it’s assembled, and that can be a hefty task — so having someone nearby isn’t the worst idea.
Aside from drilling into the wood itself, the whole thing just required a Phillips head screwdriver and the included Allen key.
As for the motor, much of it is ready to go right from unpackaging and already fitted in the support bar that goes between the two legs. It’s a simple case of plugging in the control pad (which can be fitted anywhere you’d like), the motor connections from each leg, and connecting up the AC adapter.
Knock on wood
The E7 comes in plenty of colors, but the black review unit looks smart and clean, especially with an old Amazon desk tidy sitting on top. While much of my daily work is done on a MacBook connected to a docking station, I was worried about how the cables from my gaming PC would be stretched and pulled around during the motoring process. Thankfully, Flexispot kindly sent a PC holder that locks my pride and joy to the underside of the deck, minimizing cable mess significantly.

That also means I have a lot of room to work with. While my prior desk did have some cable management options, the Flexispot Pro Plus Standing Desk E7 relies on tucking wires and leads into that bridge. That’s fine and saves taking chunks out of the countertop itself, but if you’re like me, you’ll find plenty of cables hanging around the back.
Because this desktop is the largest available in this model, there are two additional panels that need to be secured (one on each side), but the completed work surface doesn’t feel as though it’ll bend or that either of the sides will drop off at any point.
Still, what good is a standing desk without the ability to, well, you know, stand? The good news is that the Flexispot Pro Plus Standing Desk E7 is comfortable both raised and lowered; I’ve spent hours leaning on it while playing V Rising with friends or reviewing Neon White, and plenty more with it in the upright position during work calls or lengthy writing sessions that require me to stretch my legs.
The “Premium Keypad” looks great, with four presets and a USB charger, too.
Our review model features the Premium Keypad (an additional $20), but offers a metallic look and a sneaky hidden USB port which is ideal for charging your phone. There’s an LCD display that shows the current height, and as a 6ft 4-inch man I was very impressed to be able to move my display to eye level. There’s room for a quartet of saved heights, too, but you can also use the “up” and “down” arrow buttons to raise or lower as you see fit.
As a parent of a very curious three-year-old, I was very pleased to find a child lock, too, preventing junior from lowering the desk while he’s stood underneath it. The max height is 48.4-inches, but you can drop it right down to 22.8-inches, too.
Movement is smooth, too, thanks to the dual-motor setup, so you’re unlikely to spill a drink during lifting or raising.

I’ve long been intrigued by the prospect of a standing desk, but the Flexispot Pro Plus Standing Desk E7 sold me on the promise. Whether I’m at the desk for work or play, it feels sturdy, and the smooth motion makes everything feel effortless — even with two monitors, a mic, a laptop, docking station, desk tidy, and goodness knows what else.
It’s a perfect way to work better from home.
