Forget other budget laptops and check out these HP Envy x360 Black Friday deals

HP’s Envy x360 15 convertible laptop blew me away when I reviewed it earlier this year, noting impressive battery life, performance, and overall design. The Envy brand is a more affordable alternative to the premium Spectre x360 lineup, but it borrows many of the same features without costing nearly as much. If you like the idea of a 15.6-inch laptop that can have its display spin around for tent, stand, and tablet modes, this is likely the best you’ll find in this price range. It’s one of the best Black Friday laptop deals available, but only while HP’s Flash Sale lasts through the day.

The AMD model I reviewed (and one of the two on sale) is discounted by a flat $100 at HP, meaning you can configure it as you’d like and still get the discount. A baseline model with Ryzen 5 5500U CPU, 8GB of RAM, 256GB SSD, and 1080p touch display is down to $640. Bumping up the config to a brighter FHD display and Ryzen 7 5700U CPU brings the price up to $840, which is still a great deal.

The Intel model that’s also on sale offers a deeper discount with similar design, though it has a silver finish. Baseline models include an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 CPU, 8GB of RAM, 256GB M.2 PCIe SSD, and 15.6-inch FHD touch display with 250 nits brightness. HP is offering a flat $210 off the Intel models, so you can upgrade the hardware and still get the sale.

    HP Envy x360 15z | $100 off

HP’s Envy x360 15z convertible laptop delivers a ton of performance with AMD Ryzen 5000 Mobile CPUs. It’s thin, it’s built well with an aluminum chassis, the keyboard and touchpad are comfy, and the battery life is outstanding. If you’re in the market for a high-end convertible that doesn’t have a premium cost, this is it.

    Hp Envy X360 Intel

    HP Envy x360 15t | $210 off

The Intel-based Envy x360 15t offers a deeper discount than the AMD model, and you can configure it as you’d like and still get the same deal. Choose from 11th Gen Intel Core CPUs, storage sizes, and memory, and get the same excellent build quality and features. This Intel version comes in a silver finish.

Build quality is excellent thanks to a slim aluminum design, and it’s fairly light for its size. You should have no problems taking it with you each day on a commute. The FHD display has accurate color, slim bezel, and it’s compatible with HP’s MPP 2.0 active pen for inking. The basic display has 250 nits brightness, while the upgraded version (also available in the deal) has 400 nits brightness. I recommend the latter.

The keyboard and touchpad are both excellent. Key travel is ample, meaning you won’t mind typing for long hours. And the touchpad is huge for easy pointing. The AMD model is stuck with standard USB-C, while the Intel model has Thunderbolt 4 for the latest connectivity. There’s also USB-A, HDMI, an SD card reader, and more to make connecting accessories a breeze.

Perhaps most impressive, at least in the AMD models (Intel shouldn’t be far behind), is battery life. I measured about 14 hours between charges; that’s superb in a laptop that can easily crush productivity work. This deal only lasts through today at HP’s Flash Sale.
