Apple is closing each of its 20 Apple Stores in France as part of the country’s efforts to deal with the COVID-19 situation. France is now entering its third lockdown as it hopes to reduce infection rates.
We will lose control if we do not move now,” French President Emmanuel Macron said during a televised address. The country’s death toll stands at almost 100,000 people with a faltering vaccine rollout also hampering the situation.
As France continues to battle the virus stores in the United States all remain open at the time of writing. Stores in the UK remain closed as part of the region’s own lockdown, although it is currently in the midst of a reopening plan.
Many French Apple Stores were already closed, although some such as those in Lille and Paris were open. Those too will now close from tomorrow. The additional store closures were first reported by MacGeneration.
Apple is once again closing all its Apple Stores in France. This time there are no exceptions among the 20 addresses, until further notice. This therefore includes shops in the city center such as Lille, Bordeaux, those in Paris within the city walls or, in a special case, Montpellier.
Those looking to buy Apple products will now have to do so via the Apple online store as a three-week lockdown begins. Users can also contact Apple Support online if the need arises.
