Fujifilm has been a reknown name in the world of photography for a long while. Its range of Instax tiny cameras aren’t the very best in camera performance, but they’re really popular for capturing and printing out quick snaps and memories on the go. Now, the company has just announced its latest one, and it looks really cool.
Fujifilm has just announced its latest instant camera, the Instax Mini 41. It’s a successor to the previous Instax Mini 40 model, as the name might suggest, but the Mini 41 packs a few sensible but notable improvements that bring this specific model one step above its predecessor.
This particular model takes a few pages from the Instax Mini 12 with the inclusion of parallax correction. Parallax error occurs because the camera’s viewfinder is offset from the actual picture-taking lens. At normal distances, this difference is negligible, but during close-up shots (including selfies), it can cause the final image to be framed differently than what the user saw through the viewfinder. The Mini 41’s parallax correction system works by automatically shifting the position of the “focus” or aiming mark visible within the viewfinder (specifically, moving it towards the lower-left area of the frame) when the close-up mode is engaged. This adjusted guide helps you compensate for that parallax effect, leading to more accurately centered compositions in close-up situations.
We also have automatic exposure, which has become commonplace on most of these instant Fujifilm cameras by now and helps you get a good shot in different scenarios without requiring you to actually manually adjust your exposure every single time.
As for the design, the Instax Mini 41 features a few slight changes. It looks and feels pretty similar to the Mini 40, but the new model incorporates a textured finish on the camera body. Fujifilm states that this texturing is intended to provide a more secure and comfortable grip while you’re using it. The overall look is updated with what the company describes as a subtle metallic-like finish, and it also has a few orange-colored accents. It’s distinct enough so that you know it’s not the same exact camera, but it still doesn’t feel like a different product line at all.

Fujifilm Instax Mini 99 Review: An Instant Camera With a Vibe
This instant camera is packed with features, if you want them.
The Instax Mini 40 was released exactly four years ago, so we’ve been long overdue for a successor. It builds on some of its predecessor’s weaknesses while also keeping its core focus in sight—being a quick-snap camera that gets the job done well. I’ve personally never owned one of these newer instant tiny cameras, but even today, there’s something still extremely charming about printing out photos after taking them, so I definitely get their appeal.
According to Bing Liem, president of the imaging division of Fujifilm North America, the “Mini 41 takes everything our consumers loved about Mini 40 and levels up with enhanced performance and a modern design update—it’s easy to carry, easy to use, and matches the stylish aesthetic so many of our users bring to their photography.”
Fujifilm says that the camera will become available by the end of this month, though specific pricing details are not being disclosed at this moment. If you want to know more about it, make sure to check it out on Fujifilm’s official website.
