Galaxy S25 Series Won’t Change Much; Neither Will The Prices

In the days when my intense love for Android was still budding, the idea of a smartphone that cost about $1,000 was nothing but a nightmare. Unfortunately, that’s the reality that we’re living in now, and five years from now, the average flagship smartphone might get even more expensive.

If you’re going to pay more and more for a phone though, you want to feel like you get what you’re paying for, at the very least. Pricing information for the Samsung Galaxy S25 series has just leaked, and thankfully, considering the expected extent of upgrades, you won’t need to worry about paying more than you did this year.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Is Going To Remain The Same Price, At Least In Europe

In the smartphone world, it’s become a little bit of a problem that what you get this year doesn’t come at the same price the next year. It’s understandable that industries go through periods of shortages, inflation is a thing, and companies want to increase profit margins, but it gets harder and harder to put down more money for flagships that were already eye-wateringly expensive in the first place. It’s the way things are though.

Earlier this year, Samsung added $100 to the price tags of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 when compared to their respective predecessors. That made a potential price increase for the next S series smartphones—the S25 lineup, to be exact—more of a prospect.

However, if European pricing that has leaked thanks to WinFuture is taken at face value, the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra will sell at the same price as their S24 counterparts. That means a starting price of €899 for the S25, €1,149 for the S25+, and €1,449 for the S25 Ultra. There’s little reason why European prices would remain the same and US prices might increase, so you can expect very likely expect the same pricing as last year.

The S25 Series Better Not Increase Its Pricing; Hardly Anything Gets Upgraded

It’s only right that Samsung sticks to the exact same pricing as last year. The devices in the S25 series are far from official but leaked specifications point to a very minor uptick in the specs on paper. I mean, Samsung not sticking with the times is an entirely new topic for me to rant about, but I’ll keep that tucked away for another day.

The major upgrade for the devices will be the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, but we always expect the year’s best chip, so it’s hardly something to pat Samsung on the back over. The battery capacities and charging speeds are going to be the same old news too. Storage options will remain the same, though 12GB of RAM will finally make its way to the base S24 and 16GB might be introduced for the first time in the bigger phones.

The S25 Ultra will see the only camera upgrade, as the ultrawide gets updated to a 50MP unit. It will also get a mild design revision, with less of an angular look. Apart from that, there’s very little else to expect from the S25 on the hardware front.
