Galaxy Z Fold 6 Gets A Camera Redesign And A Milder Crease

Samsung Takes Another Step Towards Eliminating The Crease, Though It Is Still Several Steps Behind

Samsung’s foldables are pretty and they were one of the first players in the game, but the question is whether Samsung’s foldables are the best in the game. That’s something that can likely be debated for hours on end, but I don’t think many people will dispute the fact that Samsung can certainly do more to make its foldables more “premium”.

One of the first places they can start is by aiming for a crease that is near invisible. At the moment, despite the company’s prestige, Samsung’s creases on the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 are certainly very easy to see; you don’t need to catch the light right or anything. Sure, there are no foldables out there with absolutely no crease, but several OEMs have reduced them to the point where you can only slightly feel or see them.

Fortunately, we know that the Z Flip 6 is going to have a less noticeable crease since it’ll be adopting thicker ultra-thin glass on the foldable screen. Now, the latest rumor has added the Z Fold 6 to that, and we know that the device is also going to have a less noticeable crease as well, though it is not sure whether it’ll be due to the exact same reasons as the Z Flip 6.

It’s a step in the right direction, and while this generation isn’t going to see a hinge redesign, perhaps the next one will, and with that, we’ll get Samsung foldables with creases that aren’t such eyesores.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Is Also Expected To Get A Camera Island Switch-Up

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 has had a lot of confusing rumors surrounding it. There were talks of a cheaper model, and then talks of an Ultra model, and pictures of a redesigned Z Fold 6 that adopts the S24 Ultra design language. Honestly, it’s hard to figure out what’s real and what’s not in a sea of rumors (though it does seem pretty definite that there will be two Z Fold 6 models this year).

Ice Universe, a very reliable Samsung leaker on X, shared a close-up of one of the camera lenses of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and it is pretty clear that there’s going to be a change compared to what the Z Fold 5 came with. Each lens on the Z Fold 5 (and even the leaked Z Fold 6 renders) is contained in a long rounded rectangle island. We can’t see much, but there doesn’t seem to be an island around the lens shown in the image.

On top of that, it also now has a black ring around the lens, with concentric circles. It’ll certainly make for a standout design, especially against lighter colorways.
