Garmin has started rolling out Beta Version 16.16 to the Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 265, the first beta update for the pair in a few weeks. Previously, the company issued Beta Version 16.09, which it then followed at the start of the month with Beta Version 16.12. For reference, Garmin has also released the same beta revision for the Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 965, albeit with a different set of changes from the Beta Version 16.16 that has reached their smaller counterparts.
In separate forum posts, the company explains that it has included 16 changes for the Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 265. As the changelog below shows, Garmin has bundled 5 new features, as well as 11 bug fixes. Specifically, Garmin has added muscle maps for Cardio, HIIT and Pilates activities. Additionally, Beta Version 16.16 introduces new activities, including those covering racket and team sports. Moreover, Garmin has integrated the Workouts app to the Activities and Apps list.
Please note that Beta Version 16.16 is a Release Candidate build. As such, Garmin plans to bring the build to all Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 265 units soon as a new stable update. However, this will only occur if it observes no critical issues during this public beta testing phase. Beta Version 16.16 should arrive on Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 265 units enrolled on Garmin’s beta program within the next day or so through the company’s GCM service.
