Previously leaked but without images of the actual handset, the OnePlus Nord 2 x Pac-Man Edition is official and already on sale for £499. Besides the Pac-Man-themed exterior, you’ll also find a fully-customized software experience complete with games, challenges, and exclusive Pac-Man content.
In terms of hardware, the Nord 2 x Pac-Man Edition sports 12GB of RAM, 256GB of built-in storage, and is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200-AI chipset. Basically, it’s the exact same phone as the Nord 2 5G that we reviewed and loved earlier this year, just with a different software experience and an 80’s-themed exterior.
Besides the Pac-Man-themed software, the phone also boasts a dual film cover. For the outermost film, OnePlus’s design style of simplicity and elegance is combined with signature Pac-Man elements – such as the game’s iconic Pac-Dots and Pac-Man himself. For the innermost film, the special edition device boasts a glossy phosphorescent design that glows in the dark to reveal a neon maze inspired by Pac-Man. OnePlus and Nord elements are integrated into the maze.
The Pac-Man-themed software experience features 8 wallpapers, charging animation, and 8-bit-style icons for OnePlus stock apps plus some retro notification alert sounds.
And if that isn’t quite enough Pac-Man for you, the alert-slider is now the same dark blue color as the Turn-To-Blue, vulnerable ghosts that appear when the player eats a Power Pellet.
