After kicking the FIFA branding to the kerb, soccer/football fans can find EA’s new Sports FC Mobile available for download on the Google Play Store. Having announced it’s reasoning for dropping the FIFA licensing back in May 2022 because it wanted more freedom to work with more partners (perhaps the Mars football association once Musk sets up camp on the red planet?), the long-standing soccer game is now called Sports FC. The game features Real Madrid forward Vini Jr. and is available as a free update to the outgoing FIFA branded title.
Despite the change in branding, EA Sports FC Mobile still features all the players you want to see such as Haaland, Mbappe, Salah, Lewondowski, and of course, Real Madrid’s rising star Vinicius Junior. There are more than 15,000 players to choose from across 650 teams in over 30 leagues, new match intro scenes and a wide camera angle that replicates the stadium atmosphere. Players will also be able to experience new set piece camera options which are paired with enhanced audio with dynamic commentary and team-specific chants.
You can change a players shirt number and their kit appearance by changing the length of their socks, shirt tucking style and even the length of the shirt sleeves.
Key Features:
- True Player Personality: Bring the world’s most recognizable players to life with authentic running styles, penalty kick stances and celebrations.
- Dynamic Game Speed: Player personality attributes make an impact on the pitch like never before with mobile-first and tactile game speed.
- Elite Shooting System: Make your mark on the scoresheet with a revamped shooting system. Feel rewarded for smart shooting decisions and take control to rally your team to victory.
The new Impact Controls include the following actions:
- Power Shot: The Power Shot is the fastest shot type in the game, but comes with a risk vs reward mechanic. The animation length of a Power Shot is much longer than a regular shot and puts the player at risk to be tackled during the shot wind-up. Successfully unleashing a Power Shot not only looks great, but is immensely satisfying to score.
- Hard Tackle: Hard Tackles are a powerful and far-lunging stand tackle, allowing players to crush attackers or make a last second shot block. Defenders can perform faster and more powerful tackles with Hard Tackle.
- Knock On: Unlock full speed while dribbling and break away from defenders or create space to step into a shot. Knock On and also the newly added Hard Stop have been added to FC Mobile as Team Skill Moves, which allows for customization of the swipe direction control as desired.
“As we enter this new era with EA SPORTS FC, we are intent on meeting our global player community where they are to deliver on player choice and create the most immersive and authentic football experiences available,” said Nick Wlodyka, SVP & GM, EA SPORTS FC. “EA SPORTS FC Mobile is key to unlocking a new level of engagement to enrich the FC ecosystem for our players and continue our path into a fan-first future.”
Players who log in to Sports FC Mobile through until November 30 will have the opportunity to gain a coveted ambassador play item from the Founders Pack:
- Real Madrid CF’s Vinícius Júnior
- Manchester City F.C.’s Erling Haaland
- Liverpool F.C.’s Virgil van Dijk
- Tottenham Hotspur F.C.’s Son Heung-min
- Real Madrid CF’s Jude Bellingham
- Liverpool FC’s Diogo Jota
- Manchester City F.C.’s Jack Grealish
- Juventus’ Federico Chiesa
- Chelsea F.C.’s Enzo Fernández
- Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko
It’s thought that EA is moving away from the yearly releases to a base game which receives frequent updates, in a similar way to what we’ve seen from the likes of PUBG and Fortnite.
