Giants, Saints Fans Confront Eli Apple Over Tweet Trashing His Former Teams

Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Eli Apple chose violence Sunday night when he pushed send on a tweet attacking the respective fan base of his former teams, the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants

“Idk which fan base I hate more,” Apple wrote. “Prolly the saints but It’s close wit the giants it’s a toss up.” As you would expect, his tweet didn’t sit well with Giants and Saints fans, who fired back at him with their own insults. One person took it a step further by recording a diss track directed at the six-year pro over Kodak Black’s “Super Gremlin.”

To his credit, Apple hasn’t only weathered the storm, he’s gotten off a few good responses, commenting on the Giants’ five-year playoff drought, and the uncertainty surrounding the future of head coach Sean Payton, who has roamed the Saints’ sideline since 2006.

Here’s what Saints and Giants fans, as well as casual observers, had to say in response to Apple’s tweets.
