Google’s Pixel 8 series will launch on October 4th

If you were wondering when Google would take the wraps off its Pixel 8 series of smartphoens you’ll be happy to learn that a launch date has been announced. Thanks to Google sending launch invites out we now know that October 4th is when MadeByGoogle will unveil its new Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, and maybe the Pixel Watch 2 as well.

We expect the Pixel 8 series to be powered by Google’s Tensor G3 processor, and gain a temperature sensor on the rear camera housing.

When it comes to software support, Samsung has been absolutely killing it in recent years by offering updates over a longer period than Google does for its Pixels. This may change though because it’s being rumored that Google could be set to retake the crown of being Android’s update king by announcing up to 5 years of OS updates for its new phones.

It goes to show that besides being excited about seeing Google’s new hardware on October 4th, we can also look forward to some announcements on software. No doubt we’ll also see some next on Bard AI and Google Assistant as well. One thing we almost certainly shouldn’t expect is the presence of a modern charging speed on the Pixel 8 handsets.

What are you most looking forward to from Google’s Pixel 8 series launch on October 4th?
