Time to upgrade from that rinky-dink controller you’ve got to the Xbox Elite Series 2 wireless controller, which is down to $139.99 through the Microsoft store. This is a $30 drop off the controller’s MSRP and as good a price as we’ve seen before. Other retailers have matched this price in the past, but Microsoft is the most consistent place to find it going this low.
The Elite Series 2 has been around for a while now, and actually released during the previous console generation, but Microsoft has updated its firmware with modern features like Bluetooth Low Energy and other low latency options that only make it perform even better. Including those new features, this controller is the most advanced that Microsoft makes. It has extreme customizability that includes things like interchangeable thumbsticks and paddles. You get to decide what every button and switch does, and you can even adjust the tension of the thumbsticks so you get that perfect feeling while using it. Half trigger locks, a rubberized grip that wraps all the way around, and custom profiles that you can save directly onto the controller are just some of the other features you’ll uncover.
You can even use the Xbox Accessories app to unlock even more customization options. If you really want to dig deep, deep down into the little things you can change, this is how you do it. This is where you’ll find the accentuation curve controls to perfect your play and things like that.
The controller’s battery life lasts for up to 40 hours, so unless you’re doing some ultra-long gaming sessions you should be able to make it last. It even has its own unique charging dock so you can keep it topped up over night. Connect it in several ways including Bluetooth, WI-Fi, and USB-C. That also makes it easy to connect to your PC and game that way.
