The following list includes recent reports from the Midland County Sheriff’s Office and the Midland Police Department. Compiled by reporter Tereasa Nims.
10:15 p.m. – Deputies conducted a traffic stop at a Lincoln Township location. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle didn’t have any insurance. The 64-year-old male driver was cited. A report is being sent to the prosecutor.
9:24 p.m. – A deputy was dispatched to a Mills Township location regarding a deer in the roadway causing a traffic hazard. The deer was removed from the roadway.
8:35 p.m. – Deputies were called to a car-deer crash in Jerome Township.
7:58 p.m. – A deputy spoke with a 74-year-old Greendale Township man about an attempted fraud. He received a phone call claiming he needed to buy and give bitcoins to the caller to avoid being in legal trouble. The man decided it was fraud and did not go through with the transaction. The man wanted to report the incident. No monetary losses were reported.
7:45 p.m. – Police were called to a property damage crash at eastbound US-10 and the Jefferson Avenue overpass.
5:05 p.m. – Deputies responded to a property damage crash in Warren Township.
Activities of the Midland County Sheriff’s Office and Midland Police Department on March 7, 2023
4:01 p.m. – A 33-year-old Edenville Township man was arrested for fleeing and eluding, possession of meth and warrants following a traffic stop in Edenville Township. The man was lodged at the Midland County Jail and a report is being sent to the prosecutor.
3:25 p.m. Police responded to a property damage crash at N. Saginaw Road and W. Wheeler Street.
2:45 p.m. – A 46-year-old woman had some questions about terminated employees calling her business or attempting to get a hold of other associates. The woman was advised how to prevent them from calling again and how to inform them if they were not welcome at the business.
1:34 p.m. – Deputies were sent to a Larkin Township home for a report of a verbal argument/juvenile trouble. A 13-year-old child was arguing with her mom and causing problems in the house. Contact was made with both parties, who stated there was no assault, only an argument. Both parties agreed to work out the matter civilly.
12:51 p.m. – Police were called to a property damage crash at Sturgeon Avenue and W. Wackerly Street.
11:47 a.m. – Deputies were dispatched to the law enforcement center lobby to assist a 49-year-old Larkin Township woman with questions regarding possible fraud and harassment. The woman was advised of her options.
11:01 a.m. – Police made a warrant arrest in the 3500 block of E. Ashman Street.
10:37 a.m. – An animal control deputy received a complaint of two dogs running loose from a home in Lincoln Township. The dogs’ owner was issued a violation notice.
9:36 a.m. – An animal control deputy received a complaint regarding a dog running loose from a home in Lincoln Township. Contact was made with the dog’s owner. The owner’s failure to keep the dog from running loose will result in a misdemeanor citation.
8:27 a.m. – Deputies responded to a property damage crash in Larkin Township.
2:54 a.m. – A 32-year-old man was cited for driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop in Lee Township, and a report was forwarded to prosecutor.
1:55 a.m. – Police responded to Washington Street at St. Andrews Road for a weapon and drug violation.
