Halo Infinite is in the hands of thousands of players thanks to its Multiplayer Beta, and players are mostly ecstatic with what this ambitious free-to-play shooter has to offer. On Tuesday, 343 Industries kicked off the first limited-time event in Halo Infinite with Fracture: Tenrai. This non-canon event gives players a chance to obtain a ton of samurai-themed gear and rewards for Halo Infinite, and looks pretty great overall.

343i has revealed the progression system for the Event Pass, and it may not be what players were expecting. Players still need to complete event-specific challenges to progress, similar to the Halo Infinite Battle Pass, but every completed challenge rewards a full tier instead of a specific amount of XP. However, it appears that players are not be able to complete the Fracture: Tenrai Event Pass during the week of Nov. 23-30, 2021, as 343i has placed a progression cap on the event.

Once players have run out of event challenges to complete, they’ll be unable to progress any further through Fracture: Tenrai this first round. Instead, players have to wait until the Event Pass returns throughout Season 1 of Halo Infinite. 343i has confirmed that the Fracture: Tenrai Event Pass is going to appear six times during Season 1, with the second appearance coming at some point in Jan. 2022.

It’s also confirmed that tier skips do not work for the Fracture: Tenrai Event Pass, meaning players can not spend real-world money to progress to the end without completing challenges. If you encounter a challenge that’s too difficult to complete, you can still use a Challenge Swap to replace it with something else.

Halo Infinite has received some criticism from the Halo community thanks to its abnormal progression systems in its multiplayer, but it still promises to be one of the best Xbox games thanks to its stellar gameplay and foundations. While you won’t be able to complete the Fracture: Tenrai Event Pass during the first week, players will get plenty of opportunities to progress through it over the coming months.
