Halo Infinite multiplayer gameplay revealed at Xbox E3 2021, gets Holiday 2021 release date

During the Xbox E3 2021 show, Microsoft and 343 Industries officially unveiled multiplayer gameplay of Halo Infinite for the first time. The gameplay footage shows two teams of Spartans taking each other down with a wide array of weapons, tools, and melee attacks — exactly what players have come to expect from a good game of Halo multiplayer. The trailer showed gameplay in both Arena and Big Team Battle modes, with Spartans making frequent use of pieces of equipment such as the grappling hook and the drop shield. Notably, it also looks like there are no red and blue team colors like previous Halo games, which may indicate that enemy players will be identifiable via red outlines like in the Destiny games. Overall, the game looks very fun, so we’re looking forward to jumping in.

The multiplayer gameplay was also accompanied by a brand new trailer for Halo Infinite’s campaign that gives fans a closer look at the game’s improved graphics, semi-open world structuring, PvE combat, and some story beats, including a new AI companion that will accompany the Master Chief. Halo Infinite was also given a release date of Holiday 2021, which follows the previously stated release window of Fall 2021. This likely means that the game will release in one of the final months of the year.

Halo Infinite looks like it’s going to be one of the best Halo games ever and one of the best Xbox games ever, too. We can’t wait to play it when it comes to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One consoles, and Windows 10 (and Windows 11) PCs later this year. Did you enjoy the game’s E3 2021 showing? Let us know. You can preorder the game now for $60, but keep in mind that if you’re only interested in the multiplayer, it’s completely free-to-play.
