343 Industries’ Head of Design, Jerry Hook, has announced that starting in Halo Infinite Season 2, players will be able to earn credits from the seasonal Halo Infinite Battle Pass. Credits in Halo Infinite allow players to purchase items from the game’s microtransactions shop, meaning that once this change is implemented, players will be able to engage with the shop without having to buy credits.

It’s unclear whether or not the credits will be exclusive to the $10 paid tier of the Battle Pass or not at this time, but either way, it’s good to know that players will be able to earn credits by completing gameplay challenges and progressing their Battle Pass. Hook says that 343 “will have more to share on this as we get closer to Season 2,” which is slated to begin at some point in May 2022.

Additionally, Hook also shared information about some changes to Halo Infinite’s shop and challenges that are being implemented soon. Specifically, players can expect more individual items that are independent of bundles to become available in the shop next week, and the developers are temporarily removing Big Team Battle challenges due to the ongoing matchmaking issues with the mode as well (if you’ve been experiencing these issues, try our fix for Big Team Battle not working).

Halo Infinite’s multiplayer is free to play and is available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One consoles, and Windows PCs. It’s a ton of fun, and paired with the Halo Infinite campaign, it’s easily one of the best Xbox games available right now.
