This Is The Official List Of OnePlus Smartphones That Will Be Getting The Android 15 Update
There are few feelings better than seeing that there’s a major Android update awaiting a download and install on your smartphone, especially when you’ve owned it for a few years already and it is still receiving tender love and care from the manufacturer.
OnePlus has released the list of OnePlus models that will be getting an update to Android 15/OxygenOS 15. To cut to the chase, if you have a OnePlus device that was released in 2021, you won’t find your device on this list, which is disappointing. But apart from that, it’s a healthy spread:
- OnePlus 12
- OnePlus 12R
- OnePlus 11
- OnePlus 11R
- OnePlus 10 Pro
- OnePlus 10R
- OnePlus 10T
- OnePlus Nord 3
- OnePlus Nord CE 3
- OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite
- OnePlus Open
- OnePlus Pad
Considering that the OnePlus Nord CE 4 has been released already, I’ll assume that it’s only omitted from this list because it is a given that it will get an update to the new version of OxygenOS. After all, its predecessor is on the list.
What Features Are We Going To Get With The Arrival Of OxygenOS 15?
There’s nothing confirmed yet, but there are rumors about the features that you can expect OxygenOS 15 to bring to OnePlus devices.
This new major version of Android should likely come with some changes to the UI, but it can’t be said whether these will be minor or major. Plus, satellite messaging is a big thing with phones coming out of China these days, though the feature is yet to get a big welcome in North America. OnePlus might release newer phones with this capability.
OxygenOS 15 should also adopt some features straight out of Android 15, as expected. It should bring a feature that allows you to share only a part of your screen with someone, instead of the whole thing, which should help with privacy and security. You should also get more control over how long notifications wait on screen.
When Will OxygenOS 15 Launch?
OxygenOS 15 is expected to launch at some point after Android 15 does, and the latter is expected to have a full release in the third quarter of the year. This is very likely to coincide with the release of the Google Pixel 9 series (my bet is in October). That means that OxygenOS 15 should be fully ready for release in about November if last year’s timeline is anything to place your bets on.
