Here Are the Phones You Should Look Out for in February 2025

Last month, we saw two major smartphone releases: the OnePlus 13 series and the Samsung Galaxy S25 family. That’s old news, though, as January is gone and February has arrived, so instead of focusing on what just came out, let’s focus on what is going to come out.

February is bringing a lot of new devices. You’re going to see flagships, midrangers, and budget devices—everyone is included. I’m particularly excited for the device that will serve as the precursor to the OnePlus Open 2, as well as seeing what Asus will do now that it’s committed to abandoning its compact formula.

Expect to See These Smartphones Launch This Month

February has a lot of new devices coming, so it’ll be easy for some of them to fly under the radar. We don’t want that, though, do we? So, let’s talk about the phones that you can expect to see show up this month.

Oppo Find N5

Of all the devices coming in February, I’m most excited to see the Oppo Find N5, the next foldable smartphone from the Chinese OEM. There are a lot of reasons to be excited about its arrival.

For one, we know that it is going to be the thinnest foldable in the world. On top of that, it will also likely serve as the template for the OnePlus Open 2, so that’s another reason to keep an eye on it. Plus, the foldable race is more exciting than it’s ever been, so I await it patiently.

Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra

Asus seems to have said a permanent goodbye to its regular numbered flagships, having the big Ultra models take their place. The Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra is coming out soon—”soon” being on February 6th, which is just a few days away. Expect a design heavily based on the ROG Phone 9 and proper flagship specs.

Samsung Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56

Samsung isn’t planning to slow up the pace at the beginning of the year. Although we don’t have an official launch date, it looks like we can expect the Galaxy A36 and A56 to make themselves known this month.

The Galaxy A56 is the new top device in Samsung’s A series, and we know that it is going to be bringing a new design, as well as 45W charging—the first time outside of Samsung’s flagships.

Tecno Pova 7

On its social media channels, Tecno’s Pova subbrand has teased a new device—likely the Pova 7—that will come with an LED strip that wraps around the camera setup and will likely serve as the flash for the phone (and maybe an LED notification indicator too). The name of the phone isn’t certain, and neither is its launch date, but it seems like a February launch will fit it best at this pace.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra

For those who love Ultra flagships, the Xiaomi 15 family is going to have one added to it with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. It’s going to be a camera monster if it’s anything like its predecessor. It will be expensive, though. It seems set for a launch this month—February 26th, according to a leak—though it might be China-only at first.

Vivo V50

The Vivo V40 was a very solid midranger, and the Vivo V50 will definitely follow in those footsteps. Just like last year, it looks like the Pro model is going to launch later than the regular V50. It’s also expected to come with a battery that pushes into the 6,000mAh window.
