As of the third quarter of last year, Samsung had the biggest chunk of the smartphone market, having shipped 20% of all phones in that timeframe. This makes them the biggest Android OEM, and naturally, there will always be a lot of interest in Samsung smartphones and the software that they run.
Speaking of software, we’ve welcomed One UI 6 and One UI 6.1, and the next major update will be One UI 7.0. Major number increments tend to bring a lot of shiny changes, so you might want to know whether you’ll be lucky enough to partake in One UI 7.0. Well, let’s talk about the devices most likely to get this update.
What Phones Are Most Likely To Get Android 15 And One UI 7.0?
One UI 7.0 is going to be a shiny new version of Samsung’s beloved take on Android, and since it will be based on Android 15, it is bound to bring a whole lot to the table. When Will One UI 7.0 Release?
For the past handful of years, all major versions of One UI debuted or rolled out to the latest Samsung Galaxy S-series phones at the time. For instance, One UI 6.1, One UI 5.1, One UI 4.1, and One UI 3.1, all launched at the beginning of their respective years along with the year’s Galaxy S phones. One UI 6.0, 5.0, and 4.0 all came out towards the end of their respective years, between October and December.
If that trend follows through since we’ve gotten One UI 6.1 already this year, we can expect One UI 6.1.1 to be released with the Galaxy Z foldable, and then One UI 7.0 to come around in the very last quarter of the year. The first device to receive One UI 7.0 will be the Galaxy S24 series, which shouldn’t be surprising, and then the update will begin to roll out to other phones.
