Here’s A Second Chance To Enroll In Samsung Care+, With 20% Off

If you consider yourself to be a butterfingers, it’s a smart idea to grab onto the device insurance plan your phone’s manufacturer offers. In Samsung’s case, you can get Care+. However, you need to get that plan at the very moment that you purchase the new device, otherwise, you’ll have to pay out of pocket if an accident does happen.

Right now though, Samsung is offering you another chance to enroll in the Samsung Care+ program if you missed your window, but only for select devices. However, the best part is that the company is going to be giving you a 20% discount, making it a pretty sweet deal.

I consider myself to be extremely careful with my smartphones. My current device, a Galaxy S22 Ultra, hasn’t had a screen protector on it since I got it. I do have a case on it, though I like to carry it around naked on rare occasions (many phones are too beautiful to always keep clothed). However, despite my supposed carefulness, my phone has dropped a few times. In fact, the back panel is cracked in the bottom corner.

No matter who you are, it’s never a bad idea to get an insurance plan like Samsung Care+ on your smartphone, especially if it is an expensive one. In the event that damage does happen to your device, it saves you from needing to pay the normally extravagant fees to get it fixed. Instead, you’ll pay what is essentially a small deductible instead.

The thing is, you normally only get one chance to enroll, which is up to 60 days from the date when you buy the phone. However, Samsung has opened up a window, up until November 24th, giving you the chance to enroll a small selection of devices in the plan, listed below:

The best part is that you get a 20% discount if you choose to enroll during this window. The actual price that you save depends on your device, as more expensive devices belong in a higher tier and can pay as much as $259 to cover a 2-year term. For budget devices, this can be as low as $49 for the same time period.

It’s pretty easy to think of Samsung Care+ as an insurance program since that’s basically what it is. You can choose to pay a monthly or two-year premium, the price of which is defined by the tier that the device you intend to enroll is placed in. However, once you pay, it protects you in the event of damage to your phone.

For instance, regardless of how much your device costs, Care+ will fix a broken screen for just $29, repair any mechanical breakdown (say, a faulty volume rocker or S Pen ejection mechanism) for free, and fix any other accidental damage, or even get the device replaced, for just $99.

If your phone tends to go a year or two without damage, it might not be worth it, but if your device tends to hit the ground more than a basketball, it might be a good idea to enroll.
