Here’s Our First Look at Samsung’s Upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7

Here in 2025, the foldable market is pretty darn rich. There’s a lot of variety (though mostly for those who aren’t afraid of shipping devices from other regions), and the spec sheets have gotten a lot better than before. Samsung is still the poster child for the segment but the competition is getting hotter with each passing year.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be the next book-style foldable from the South Korean OEM, and we expect it to arrive in one of the summer months. It’s still a little ways away, but thanks to OnLeaks and Android Headlines, we’re getting a pretty early look at what the phone is going to look like, so let’s talk about it.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Is Going to Stay Faithful to the Current New Design

When the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 came out, it marked a notable revision in how Samsung planned to design its foldables going forward. Instead of rounded corners for the body and the displays, Samsung took a note out of the book of past S Ultra devices (excluding the S25 Ultra) by adopting a more angular design. While it might not benefit ergonomics, I do think it is a much better look.

Thanks to a leak, we now have our first look at what we can expect from the design of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, and unsurprisingly, it looks exactly the same as the Z Fold 6. Samsung isn’t one to do redesigns that often, so it’d have been misguided to expect any notable design change to its big foldable just a year after.

When unfolded, it will maintain roughly a square profile, along with straight edges and rather angular corners. The camera module also seems to be identical. It’ll be hard to tell this one apart from its predecessor. If the renders are to be taken quite literally, it does look like the device will get much slimmer than before—4.5mm when unfolded, to be exact—but that’s to be expected with the current foldable climate.

Samsung’s Dual-Folding Phone Could Follow the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 to Market

With Huawei’s release of the Mate XT, the first-ever dual-folding phone, late last year, it was expected that other OEMs would rush to follow suit. Samsung is one of them, and it seems that we can expect to see that smartphone arrive this year.

What makes things even more exciting is that it could accompany the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 whenever they launch in the summer of this year. That could make the South Korean OEM’s foldable launch this year a lot richer, especially as we expect a Galaxy Z Flip FE to be part of the family, too.

There’s little known about the dual-folding phone at this moment. It might be called the Galaxy G Fold and it is expected to have a massive 9.96-inch display on the inside and a 6.49-inch cover display, which is identical to what the Z Fold 7 will have on its outside.
