The Galaxy Buds 3 Bring A Stem And A Sleek New Design For Both Buds And Case
Next month is going to be a very busy one for Samsung. Not only are the company’s new foldables expected to launch in early July, but we also expect to see the Galaxy Watch 7 series show its face. Yet still, on top of that, Samsung’s new earbuds should grace the stage after a brief hiatus. We’re expecting a Buds 3 and a Buds 3 Pro model, and today, we’ve gotten a good glimpse at what the Buds 3 are going to look like thanks to TeqhnikaCross on X.
All I can say is that the design is extremely distinct from what we expect when we think of Galaxy Buds. The most obvious change is that the South Korean manufacturer is moving away from its bean-like buds and going to the type with stems, similar to the Apple AirPods. Fortunately, the presence of stems alone isn’t enough to make a comparison to Apple’s option, as the design here speaks its own language.
The buds come in a new case that docks the earbuds vertically instead of horizontally like previous iterations. The case has a charging light on the front, a matte grey finish, and a clear cover that lets you see the earbuds inside. The earbuds themselves have a relatively aggressive look, with a satin grey finish and a rectangular stem. Overall, I think they look pretty good and I’m excited to hear more about them.
The Galaxy Buds 3 Series Is Coming With Some Nice Boosts Over The Last Gen
The Buds 3 are quite expectedly going to be better than the Buds 2. For one, they step up the water resistance from IP52 to IP57, which means you should worry a lot less if these drop into the pool or if you get caught out during a rainstorm. You also get Hi-Res audio support, which was only on the Buds 2 Pro the last time around.
With the Samsung Buds 3 Pro, there are going to be quite a few more upgrades in the mix. You can expect it to get everything that the Buds 3 get, but they’ll bring more. These are going to have two audio drivers in each earbud, which should mean the sound gets a lot better. There’s also much better battery life with this model, as it steps up from 23 hours with the charging case to 30 hours.
The Buds 3 Pro is also expected to have “Blade Lights”. Nobody is really certain what that is, but I believe it might be an LED bar running on the edge of the stem. Maybe they’ll be used to indicate battery life.
